pick the bones out of this one, I am probably completely wrong here but it reads to me like you need to form a social bubble group which is who you will sit with at games.
Those people must live in the same house as you or be in your support bubble so I wouldn't be able to pick 5 mates to sit with but I could go with someone I have regular contact with such as my Dad.

You need to register your bubble by next Friday to give the club a chance to plan where everyone will sit in the stadium, you can also pick your preference for which stand you want to be in although won't be guaranteed that.

I could be unknowingly spreading it but don't you spread it through droplets so coughing, sneezing etc near people? I haven't been near people to spread it to them and my son isn't off his ipad or PS4 long enough for me to cough near him.

I just think it would be an idea to see the fall out from last weekends test events, it may well have cause a rise in those areas but if not why are we abandoning this if it doesn't actually increase the spread.

The weight of evidence suggests aerosol transmission as well as larger droplets. this suggests that someone who is shedding virus can infect others simply through breathing and talking, this is less likely outside than inside but is considered one of the reasons that the virus is so effective in transmitting in housholds, on public transport etc

Until we get the R number down we are going to have to trade off various options, I imagine the results of those test event will still be analysed, i havent seen anywhere that they are throwing them away, but the situation has changed so potential easing of restrictions is going on the back burner

I don't want to get into the politics of it all but strikes me that we are 3 weeks after the Eat out to help out where restaurants and pubs across the country saw lots of extra people going out plus summer holidays across the UK and a return to schools, of course the number of cases was going to go up from that

I don't buy it's got worse since Saturday, did anyone who went to those games weekend get the virus? Have we seen increased cases in those areas? Just seems a bit of a panic move to just say right lets scrap that without seeing if it worked

Surely you can see from all of the graphs and statistics produced that it is getting worse, and therefore something needs to be done. It would be madness to open up more things like football before we get the current surge under control.

Absolutely, it was as plain as day that it would increase as restrictions were lifted, not only did many of us say so way back on the covid thread but we had the daily evidence of the fiasco that went on and continues in the USA. it was going to happen and it has

I'm not saying it isn't getting worse I just think for the football stadiums they should wait and see the fallout from last weekends test events before making a decision.

The answer surely is to have a 3 hour grouse shoot at the KPFS which clashes with a QPR football match?

The grass is always greener.

As has been said elsewhere I think they're more worried about the journeys than the game itself.

Also I think the imagery would be troublesome - people are being told they can't mix, can't have a big family Christmas, can only have 15 people at their wedding etc, etc, and they turn their TV on to see 5000 people watching a football match.

Let's face it opening up football matches isn't going to help the Covid situation, at absolute best it would do nothing. So given there is no way it could help, but a very real possibility it could cause harm it's daft to open it up at a time when you are increasing restrictions. I pay for 3 ST's (although thankfully mine is now a concession) so I want to get back as much as everyone else. But believe me, now is not the time.

I get that but you can make the same argument about why can't I see my Nan when 1,000 people are going to legoland today, they are different things. If you can make a football stadium covid secure, and i do think the outcome of these test events was crucial to see if it was possible, then they should be opened in the safest way possible. If that means you can't use public transport to get to games then fine, everyone has to walk or drive.

I think that if football hadn't have had a delayed end to the season , and started on time, we have have got to a few of the early matches in what now looks like the lull between two peaks. But this is a respiratory virus, and if it follows other respiratory viruses and gets worse in winter, start looking forward to a full refund on your ST.

"Covid Secure" is a fallacy, there is no such thing outside of cleanroom environments, there is "Covid securish" and " Covid securer". but those wouldnt play in terms of getting people back out spending money

yeah meant more that venues have to have this covid secure certificate to re open, we've have to do that for our offices at work and is same in pubs, shops etc
As you say basically means you can spend money here now

" they should wait and see the fallout from last weekends test events before making a decision"

And how are "they" supposed to do that, since there is no routine testing of the people who attended?

The IR is rising daily as is the daily death rate, currently Covid-19 is in fact dictating our lives whether we like it or not.

We have sat on here for Months bitching about mass gatherings of people ignoring rules and acting like pricks at beaches, raves, airports, supermarkets etcetera--etcetera blah fcking blah and hey ho guess what? The IR is rising daily as is the daily death rate, currently Covid-19 is in fact dictating our lives whether we like it or not.

Yea that's right It's a shitstorm so forget about going to Loftus Road this year or any other football stadium for that matter.

It's tough it's tough shit.

Keep washing your hands.

Stay safe.

That sort of thing.

Oh and the mask don't forget the mask.........................

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

Well everyone who went to those games will have registered so if any of them fall ill in the next few weeks they should be notifying the clubs so that everyone else who went is told to isolate. Isn't that how track and trace is supposed to work?

Alternatively the clubs could have asked everyone who went to get a test next week and again if they have the virus report it back so everyone is aware.

What's happened is we have had people go to games, toddle off home and whether it turns out if was perfectly safe or not we won't be going ahead with anything.

It's all mad really. I could have 5 mates round weekend to watch the QPR game, few beers, try and social distance but my living room isn't big enough so we'll all be sat together in an enclosed space but taking precautions, wearing a mask, sitting apart in an open air stadium is not allowed.

Non league grounds are open though, you can go and watch those games in you like. COVID only gets you at EFL or Premier League games.

Still 4 weeks ago we were being told to eat out to help out, get out on British holidays save the economy. 3 weeks ago we were being told to go back to offices and save the high street plus go back to school, give it another week and they'll change their mind again

On the offish, the club are still asking everyone to register their bubbles, even singletons with no bubble, so that they can plan for a seating pattern. Includes idiot-proof instructions - even I could do it!
