🇺🇸Presidential debate round 1 - “Matchday thread”🇺🇸 01:18 - Sep 29 with 191726 viewsDr_Parnassus

Who will be watching? First one kicks off in 24 hours time.

The Democrats have pulled Joe back from his campaign trail recently to get him prepared, so hopefully it will be a decent exchange.

Unfortunately they don’t seem to have great confidence as they have spent the last month looking for any dirt they can dig up so Joe can use if he gets stuck.

It’s no coincidence that this vote influencing Facebook algorithm story is being shamelessly and inaccurately made into a race issue on the eve of the debates. So transparent and disingenuous, it’s a shame politics has come to this on this level where black people are being used in this way to score political points. I would be furious if I was them, but it does seem a lot of people are not falling for this one and calling it out for what it is.

People finally seem to be getting wise to this political race baiting which is refreshing to see.

It’s also telling that in the week of the debate they try and paint Trump as a tax evasion offender. I think that’s what they wanted the tax returns to show, they seem to have got annoyed when it turns out his tax returns were fine in accordance to what his companies profits were - but decided to run with it anyway. Any news is good news in their mind as it’s another thing Joe can use when in a tricky spot.

But I hope the discussions remain political and doesn’t turn into some form of gossip peddling reality TV episode.

Although I think there should be some kind of drinking game involved if it does turn that way, how many times Biden completely loses his thread of thought and blurts out “I mean, think about it...” you have to take a shot.

I will be watching with great interest anyway.

Over 160 million people voted. Of course there's going to be isolated incidents of fraud as there is in every election. What is distinctly lacking is any evidence of a fraud large enough to alter the result of the election.

If you think that you are denying the evidence, just as the mass media is.
Now Google suppresses any future mention of Electorial Fraud on Youtube.
This is cencorship, which they can currently do due to their status.

enough of a problem to alter the result of the election?

Well that would depend on whether or not it applied to every polling station wouldn't it?

So you've got no evidence because Google suppressed it? Amazing how an internet search engine was able to dissuade the presumably hundreds, if not thousands of witnesses there would have been to this enormous crime from stepping forward with their credible evidence. Funny how Trumps lawyers clearly aren't smart enough to beat this algorithm and bring all this evidence that you claim exists on youtube to court. Have you volunteered your services? Sounds like they could do with you.

She’s made some decent points. Lots of States have done it, depending on where your beliefs fall you’ll consider it as prudent housekeeping or an exercise in mass disenfranchising. Adams has worked hard to register Afro Americans since her loss and that has swung the Georgia result the way of the Democrats.
The point she makes re Native Americans is very pertinent.

I sat and watched a few of the testimonies of various counters, election workers and poll watchers at a hearing in Michigan yesterday via the You Tube and putting the fraud allegations to one side for a moment the running theme was a picture painted of completely chaotic counting centres with nobody seeming to know the correct processes, having hardly any training and officials more concerned with getting everything done as quickly as possible rather than as correctly as possible. Dismissing any concerns without checks etc.

If anything comes from the fallout of this election they need to look at their processes to stop this sort of nonsense in the future. We don’t seem to have any of these problems here. Everyone seems to know what they’re doing, the counting process is highly efficient. Over there the feeling I get is people are just dragged in off the streets and chucked straight in.

Spot on for me.

I think it’s clear now that anything they thought they could prove, is going to be nearly impossible to. They should now be thinking about concession in my opinion.

The whole vote this year was a sheer mess and said it would be for months prior, that cannot happen again. It’s not about Trump or Biden, it’s about having a system people can trust, which they clearly don’t. Do I think some dodgy stuff went on, absolutely, especially in Fulton County. Would it have been enough to change the overall result? Probably not.

The whole thing needs an overhaul. Regardless of what side you sit on, can anyone really be comfortable with such a partisan media controlling the airwaves? While it may benefit you (Democrat) currently, the fact you have seen it in action should be enough to suggest it may not always benefit you and the danger that brings.

Concede, move on. Hope puppet Joe and bonkers Kamala don’t make too much of a pigs ear of things, hope Republicans win the run offs to stop their insane ideas such as 62% tax rates in some areas and then put this utterly insane year behind us.

No, the fact that they cannot prove either count is correct.
Do you think this would happen with the UK system, that they would declare they cannot reconcile the counts and therefore cannot certify the results.
They said "“it illuminates that the electronic recount lacks credibility.” Election officials also said that no election board has the ability to “reconcile the anomalies” that are shown in that document.

To concede and move on will mean that Trump will be the last ever Republican President.
If they can get away with this kind of fraud (which you don't believe) they will make changes once Harris is in and there will be no coming back for any Republican in the future.
They are totally corrupt.

So when they certified their result the first time that wasn't correct? Why didn't they say at the time?

None of this would happen in the UK because we don't have electronic voting machines. Each vote is a paper ballot which is then counted usually by the local authority after the close of polls. If you were making an argument in favour of abolishing voting machines and returning to the good old fashioned method, I'd be supportive of that.

Yeah that’s why focus needs to shift onto the Senate now. Some of the suggested Democrat plans are the most dictatorial I have seen in the West in my relatively short life, so it’s vital they can be blocked. Like I said, I understand the anti-Trump sentiment of some, but they have to really ask themselves some important questions.

Do they really want radical changes forced through in order to keep one party in forever? What if that party then had views that you no longer agree with, fundamentally? It’s a very scary thought for everyone, both sides of the coin. The question is, do they realise it? It’s currently a no for many, without doubt.

Yes, they do want to force through changes that will leave them in charge for any future scenario.
The Senate will be lost in the same way, the same machines the mail in ballots, but with Harris in charge.
There will be no stopping them with their Chinese backing.
They talked russia, russia, russia when it was China all the time.

Good to see he’s being investigated, I hope the IRS etc investigate all the people suspected of tax evasion etc, same in the UK, HMRC should go after tax dodgers.

Trump has refused to disclose his tax affairs throughout his presidency and is still allegedly under audit.

You are totally deluded if you think they haven't stepped up to provide their evidence, or that I do not have any.

I don't know you, you have recently joined this debate quite late.
I posted videos from Expert witnesses including a Cyber Security specialist and an MIT Professor of Statistics.
There is evidence from a Military Cybermetics expert and the man the NYT called the "smartest man in the room.
But you are not really interested in it are you.

Even you should realise that what Facebook is doing is preventing the spread of exactly that information to the general public.
Just as the vast majority of the mass media are doing.

Here is another little gem for you regarding biased suppression of information, take this headline in the Daily Mail.
"US President-elect Joe Biden says he is 'proud' of his son Hunter after federal prosecutors' tax probe is revealed into his troubled son's dodgy Chinese business deals - which was PAUSED in case it affected election "

Why would an official justice agency pause a very serious crime investigation "because it might affect the election".
Shouldn't it have done exactly the opposite and shown that the person the public are electing as President comes from a crime family, because they are also investigating Biden's brother as well.
Many Democrat supporters stated after the election that if they had known all the information on Hunter Biden's laptop they would not have voted for his father.
What do you think would have happened if it had been anyone in the Trump family, I will tell you what it would have been plastered over every mass media headline?

I see that you snidley included Trump in your comments, as the illegal release of his Tax data showed he used the very system created by Obama & Biden to "legally avoid" paying taxes.
Which I am sure that you are aware is totally different to illegal Tax "evasion".
After all the Bidens could hardly declare all those illegal payments that he received from Ukraine, Russia and China.
