the day we got there at 10am, locked in one pub and escorted the longest possible way to the ground. Great day tho. Three well known lads there that day are now gone. RIP.

This was the only footage I found of this day but it was an amazing day, especially as we lost 3-0 and had already been relegated. Most of the crowd noise you can hear is R's.
It's a real shame there doesn't appear to be any footage of the day we won at Villa to get into the old Div 1 for the first time ever. THAT was my best away day by a country mile.

another great day, think even wilkins was carried aloft on the pitch after the game. someone let off a fire extinguisher after the game, straight into my eye, travelled home half blind...what with that and losing, we still celebrated like mad.

IIRC the R's fans carried on singing until long after the game had finished and to our left were quite a few Bayern? fans who came on the pitch to applaud us for our efforts. Macca & Wilkins came into the crowd after coming back out on the pitch along with (possibly) Danny Maddix who hadn't played. I think it must have been nearly 6 O'clock before the police got the last of us out of the ground.

Didn’t the police threaten to arrest us for trespassing or something like that if we didn’t leave?
