Sad indeed. At 53, I find it melancholy to hear of players I grew up watching passing on - the recent death of Glenn Roeder shocked me. Mariner is the first player who comes to mind when I think of Ipswich, which is something after all these years. RIP.

A good player, saw him play for both Ipswich and Arsenal at Loftus Road and at away games at Portman Road and Highbury in the 80s. Decent scoring record for England as well.
