I can tell you, NI fans loved Big Al as much as QPR fans, for all the same reasons (obv).

I also saw his older brother Roy play in goal for Crusaders a few times in the late 70's. Excellent gk who could have made it in England, I reckon - got a trial at Birmingham but nothing came of it.

Anyhow, Roy is still at the Crues, where he's every bit the same legend as Alan is at QPR.
