Qatar 2022 : The World Cup Thread UPDATED on 20:50 - Nov 25 with 2923 views | Dr_Winston | Suspect the more "illustrious" sides need to stop thinking that the US are going to roll over for them. Whatever else you can say, the Americans are very, very good at sport. They develop good coaches and good participants, and if only 20% of them ever care about football that's still 60m people. More than enough to build a competitive squad.

My brother’s lad lives in Austin, Texas and and just got a scholarship to Uni playing rugby. The facilities out there are incredible. Ex Aussie internationals as coaches, personalised training and diet regime, lots of ex pats out there. (Nephew is American) Rugby is slowly growing there but if they took it seriously, they’d be a force.

Jordan Morris and Paul Arriola have numerous caps for Team USA. Arrilao 7 international goals. They were labelled duffers by the Swansea hard core. I genuinely think the US owner were taken aback by Steve Coopers sniffy approach to them. I believe they think they had pulled of a bit of a coup. Arriola seems to be regarded as a poor man's Tommy Butler.

If only a small proportion of the players who don't make it in the NFL turned to Rugby they'd develop a pool of capable players very quickly. In either code.

No doubting their fitness as they’ve been camp for a month. They have a gung ho attitude on the pitch which is entertaining and exciting after watching them earlier.

Qatar 2022 : The World Cup Thread UPDATED on 14:55 - Nov 27 with 2344 views | Dr_Winston | Surely there must be at least one person at the Belgian FA who questioned the decision to entrust stewardship of a fabulous set of players to Roberto Martinez? Imagine what they could have achieved with an actual top level coach in charge.

They rode their luck against Canada, Canada had chances but couldn't finish Morocco did. Martinez is to blame, a team with some of the best players in the World to play the way they play is shocking.

It's why Englands draw is so good (which I wrote about before the tournament), nobody expected Belgium to be any good including Belgium.

i knew brazil would score but they have been nothing without neymar. all the attention on super fast and strong guys has made their team very ordinary and with zero attacking from their full backs they are a pretty boring team to watch today. https://www.sportsbetting3.com/odds/world-cup-odds i remember 94 brazil team was considered a joke in brazil but still won it, i think if it was not for neymar this would be the same. no flair. I think they are not quite as good on the eye as 58, 70, 82 vintage but more about them than 94 team for starters as regards attacking and getting forward. No Zico, Socrates, Ronaldinho in midfield, no Carlos Alberto, Roberto Carlos or Cafu types at fullback but they might have an heir to Garrincha and Jairzinho in Vinicius Júnior out on the wing. They have had an excellent start beating two tough teams in Serbia and Switzerland and apparently not suffered a shot on target against them. [Post edited 28 Nov 2022 21:23]

Qatar 2022 : The World Cup Thread UPDATED on 16:46 - Nov 30 with 1820 views | max936 | We are all really disappointed in the Welsh teams performances out in Qatar, but how are Denmark's fans feeling they were flying high not so long ago, been dumped out by Australia by looks of it.
