I think he is totally a confidence player. When he is confident he attacks the ball more. Doesn't let it bounce and then tries to react to that. We all know about his lack of pace but when he is confident he will decisive and then it doesn't come down to a foot race. My two biggest concerns were always his pace but when playing well he could work around it. The problem I always had was how much he got bullied. This only gets highlighted even more when he is playing poorly. He lets the ball bounce or tries to be clever and holds the ball too long and then gets knocked off it too easily

All players, bar none, are confidence players......if they are not confident then they will not perform well.

As for Dickie, he had a 'purple patch' when he joined for a fair few months and well played to him. Many were thinking, Premiership which is nonsense. He is currently doing OK, yes he makes errors, yes he lacks pace but he is still doing OK and important player for the Team.

I am, just, not sure what posters want from our players sometimes but they need to be a lot more realistic.

I see this as more of a Dickie and Dunne issue as they both seem to struggle as a pair in central defence. They either need to play as part of a back three or next to an experienced leader who’s capable of keeping the defence organised for 90+ minutes.

It’s no coincidence that our best defensive performances this season came with Balogun next to one of Dunne, JCS or Dickie. He’s the experience we need to play with two central defenders. But he’s another one who can’t be trusted to stay fit for more than 2/3 games at a time or doesn’t fancy it now that Beale’s gone.
