What I like about Madsen is that he has become a bit of a bully on the pitch. Quite happy to throw his weight about and also have a go at players. Also when he loses the ball, he now works hard to get it back. I think him and Field would work well together. Field was anticipating the danger behind him and tracking runners. Field might not be as quick has Varane physically but he more than makes up for it by being quicker in the head and anticipating danger. Same with Hayden. The double tackle Hayden made in the centre of the pitch the other day was controlled aggression. I felt if it was Varane, if probably would have been a wild lunge, where he either got booked or worse, or completely mucked it up and over committed missed everything and the player broke away |

I believe that Madsen is probably out most creative outlet in terms of his passing range, eye for a pass and the ability to actually do it. The pass for Burrell's goal, a case in point. Lovely simple first-time pass after he received it from Jimmy and then the good old slide rule pass. Although he has improved in his defensive game play this season, he needs someone next to him who is very good at this and is consistent. Varane although having the physical attributes is lacking in the consistency and has quite a few brain farts in a game. Someone like Field, who know what he is good at to sit and break the play up and pass it to someone who can get the play progressing. Now, there is no way I am saying they are at this level, but I think we are almost looking for a Wilkins, Barker/Holloway set up. |

That comes with experience. He probably knows he isn't playing how he would want to and is probably trying to make up for it by doing too much. Sometimes, just do the basics. I know people say he is only 22 and some might draw comparisons to other players who were 22 and more advanced. The most important stat is that he was in non league football only a couple of years ago. He has had a rapid rise. When he is playing well, we can see he is a proper striker. The consistency in his performances will come with more experience. |

I think there could be a player in there. Does something well and then mucks up a five-yard pass. He always seems to be reacting to danger rather than anticipating it. Hence these last-ditch lunging tackles. Hayden always seems to be in the right place. Field as well on Sunday. Tracking runners to put a foot in. Varane has all the physical attributes to be a good player |

Quite happy for Mbengue to be first choice there. Although, I do think we need someone as back up. Also would be happy for us to sign RND |

Julien and Kolli deep in conversation after the final whistle. Then saw Julien deep in conversation with the coaching staff on the pitch too As for the game. Good in patches. I do like the look of Poku. Taking up food positions and was linking up well. Once fully fit and confident his hamstring won't blow up again, I think we'll see more. The only way we were losing that today is if we shot ourselves in the foot |

Haha, fair point Mr Paddock. There’s nothing like a Pot Noodle reference to remind you that we aren't exactly in the House of Lords here. I’ll hold my hands up to being blunt—I just have a very low tolerance for people hijacking Paul Smyth’s genuine trauma to make their own message-board grievances sound important. I'm happy to leave the 'poignancy' and the mirror-staring to another, I've got a pie to attend to. |

He was getting some stick at the tournament too. People like the underdog but when they become the main man, some people hate people doing well. Absolute machine, and he can play at an incredible level longer than others |

Wow—still doubling down on the victim act and the high-horse vocabulary, I see. Let’s be clear: saying your experience is on a ‘continuum’ with a man getting death threats is a massive error in judgment and a transparent back-pedal. You tried to hitch your ego to Paul Smyth’s genuine trauma to give your message-board grievances some moral weight. It’s desperate, and frankly, it’s insulting to what he is actually dealing with. There is no 'continuum' between people finding you a nuisance on a forum and someone fearing for their family’s safety. What’s truly amazing, though, is your hypocrisy. You spent your post crying about ‘abusiveness’ and ‘malice,’ yet you immediately pivot to personal attacks, calling me ‘pitiful,’ ‘noxious,’ and ‘perverted.’ Do you not see the irony? I have attacked your conduct—I’ve called out the way you speak to people and your behavior on this board. That is a reaction to your actions. You, however, have gone straight for my identity with insults. You are doing the exact thing you claim to hate because you can’t handle being questioned. As for your 'raft of warm PMs,' that’s a classic defense for someone who can’t stand being called out in public. It doesn’t change the fact that you treat people like shit and then act shocked when they don’t give you a standing ovation. You tell me to buy a mirror, but you’re the one who seems to spend all day staring into one, convinced you’re the only 'civilised' person in the room. If you want a real discussion, try it without the ego. Until then, you’re just proving my point about your total lack of self-awareness. [Post edited 3 Jan 21:32]

Wow. You just compared your interactions on here to what Paul Smyth has gone through. The self absorbed ego of you. Despite your supposed inntelligence that you like to tell everyone you have or try to showcase, you just don't get get it. Your back in forth on here is a reap what you sow situation. You either post the majority of the time where your opinion should be treated as fact and are very forthright about it Someone replies to you in the same manner. You don't like being questioned as it means someone is challenging your intellectual prowess, so you get stroppy and personal. When they again reply in kind, you cry victim. Your total lack of self awareness is astonishing and the real issue here. If you speak to people like shit, then many will reply back the same way I believe, there are three types of posters on here when it comes to you 1. The type that call you out for the way you conduct yourself and the way you speak to others 2. Others that think you are a bit of a muppet and probably think the majority of the above, but all credit to them, they just keep quiet 3. They have you on ignore Now sometimes you can be civil on here, raise opinions and have a discussion like an adult and when that happens people will engage with you in the correct manner When you decide to be a stroppy man child, some will call you out for it. So please don't even put your interactions on here in the same stratosphere as what Paul Smyth has just gone through. Someone has said they want him and his family dead. On here, people question the way you speak to people and the matter of a fact approach you take |

Let's all bow to you then. You absolute fool. We all have standards but understand that comparisons like that are pointless. Two different times and standards of players so different it is a redundant exercise. Have a bit of realism and you might not look such a fool to everyone [Post edited 2 Jan 11:12]

I think the club need to hire him as either the manager or a consultant. Afterall, he knows how to fix everything |

Yeah that's great. Compare a manager who has been with us half a season, managing in this country for the first time to two of our best ever. |

Oh get ready to be told how vile and tiresome you are. Then the victim mentality and being told that he is just a fan who contributes to a forum with honest opinion blah blah blah. The little fella is happy to give it out but just can't take it |

His bias was ridiculous. My QPR stream kept buffering. Had to put up with him for the game earlier in the month. He was so unprofessional. One of their players smashed into Saito, and he was like 'get on there. I love that' |
