I would have thought a few more people would have had something to say about the match

Satisfying The Bloodlust Of The Masses In Peacetime

Good second half. Most enjoyment of the season. I just hope SR sees the light and doesn’t appoint another possession manager. There’s life in the crowd and players. A possession-led appointment could zap this away.

After leaving the Spurs game after 15 minutes, I couldn't face another long trip from Dorset.

But watched on TV and really enjoyed it.

I might have been imagining this but I had a real sense of a Saints team trying to play 'proper' football and it really highlighted for me how the stuff we have been watching with Martin was just such alien way to play, and such an unenjoyable thing to watch.

Of course, that final refereeing decision was an absolute joke and it reminds us of why there was such a clamour for VAR. Even so, I would rather watch a non-VAR game any day of the week. Better a slow, blind ref makes a howler than some nerd a million miles away on a PS5.

Poll: Should we try to replace Selles for the final seven games?

More concerned with a lack of water to flush all the sh1t away that's been building up over the last few months that Saints fans have had to deal with!!

It also highlighted our priorities. Certain players - Brereton Diaz, in only a short stint - showed they weren’t very good. These “shitters” need to be replaced by players who may actually do something. Long balls, especially with a goalkeeper like Ramsdale, can be effective; however, a more compact midfield is needed if the ball is given away. Downes-Aribo is a death sentence.

Downes especially put in a lazy, selfish performance. Barely putting in a shift and fouling all over the place, even when the ball was nowhere near. He may be sad his best mate Lego has gone. I take it number 26 isn’t very good, as any significant central midfielder should walk into this side; a must in January.

Onuachu is poor but offers strength through opposition paranoia. Him and Archer should lead the line. Danger men like Dibling, and even Sulemana (who I thought was decent coming on) should be given freedom. Someone should tell Dibling to keep his head up.

In defence, Taylor needs to be given another go with Sugawarra on the other side. Wood was excellent. Stability at the back, quick counters in attack. This should be our plan going forward.

At some point soon Onuachu is going to score at St Mary's and the roof is going to come off!

And then the floodgates will open.

He's scored everywhere else. He's just stuck at the moment.

Agree with what you say re. players.
Thought Fernandes had a good game last night from what I managed to see. Second half it was a delight to see them play 'proper football' as I call it. That's what we should be paying our hard earnt cash for. Wood's the only decently improved player encouragement for a long time.
I think think 'Bob The Builder' in charge showed all the other pathetic idiots what could be achieved in the second half even with a sub par Prem team.
Delighted for Archer - now keep him the flipping team - as you say alongside Big Paul. I'd also say stick with with Suleman, despite some dross in the past, and bring in Sam Amo. Also bring back Charles and Edozie.
The team were much improved when Sugawara came on.
Time to rebuild as a more positive team.

Fair point but we were also missing Captain Jack.

Sugawara should be a regular, him & Tall Paul added a different dimension to the side.
As others have said, start with Tall Paul & Archer up front. ( Not Armstrong)
I have been disappointed with Downes this season, just not disciplined enough as a holding midfield player, I see why West Ham were happy to let him go, he would not have got games there.
