I do like to see Tottenham suffer. Doesn’t help being surrounded by them here in Herts, but then I didn’t have a lot of time for them before I moved here, either.
All that “Glory, Glory” and “If you know you’re history” crap - the latter of which gets even more funny as the years go by, of course.
Shame we were cheated in 75/76 as it would be so satisfying to be able to say “even we’ve won the league more recently than you!”.

Of the other london teams i don't mind spurs. But i dont think ange is a particularly good manager. He doesn't seem to vary his tactics much, and they don't seem to be learning. All the commentators and media were going on about how awful man u were, but they still missed loafs of chances to win it.
As for commentators, they are mostly highly irritating. Theres one who always comes out with endless pointless stats, bit the co commentators are even worse. Ally mccoist is probably a decent guy, but you can't understand him that well and he says 'it really is' after every point. I did some co commentating for the Kansas City Wizards when MLS first started for the local radio.
It’s not easy and the person with you has to help. Guy with me loved the game, limited knowledge so as a mate got me involved. US commentators/ tv execs do not love space just constant talking.

Back in the first attempt to create a "sawker" revolution in the USA i.e. before even NASL, never mind MLS, some of the big TV networks started televising local games.
They got Danny "The Prince of Blarney" Blanchflower, a rare educated former footballer in those days, over to co-commentate/analyse.
To say the least, he wasn't impressed by what he was seeing in his first game, and called it as it was. Eventually he described something as "dreadful". At half time the Editor called him aside, and gave him an instruction to be "more positive."
Second half starts and at the first miskick, Danny observed that "That was positively dreadful".
His contract was cancelled after the game...
Edit: Omitted to mention that by far the best analyst I ever heard was your old guy, Terry Venables - didn't just tell you what you'd just seen, but explained why it happened. Glenn Hoddle is also a bit like that (if you can stand all his other mannerisms, that is). [Post edited 18 Feb 18:19]
