Spurs v Man Utd 18:01 - Feb 16 with 3914 views | charmr | For all they have spent, income they receive, huge fan bases, not exactly treated that well, and on the evidence currently in front of me they are both not very good. And that muppet commentator keeps shouting every time as some one shoots. [Post edited 16 Feb 18:03]

Spurs v Man Utd on 13:46 - Feb 17 by DWQPR | I think I’ve trumped everyone! |
Imagine your parents offering to buy you the latest shirt “what name would you like on the back” would need a second mortgage!

Spurs v Man Utd on 17:07 - Feb 17 with 726 views | Ghost_on_the_Westway | I do like to see Tottenham suffer. Doesn’t help being surrounded by them here in Herts, but then I didn’t have a lot of time for them before I moved here, either. All that “Glory, Glory” and “If you know you’re history” crap - the latter of which gets even more funny as the years go by, of course. Shame we were cheated in 75/76 as it would be so satisfying to be able to say “even we’ve won the league more recently than you!”. Still, um, thanks for the loan players and Kieran Morgan, oh and Adel, chaps
Spurs v Man Utd on 17:35 - Feb 17 with 652 views | plasmahoop | Of the other london teams i don't mind spurs. But i dont think ange is a particularly good manager. He doesn't seem to vary his tactics much, and they don't seem to be learning. All the commentators and media were going on about how awful man u were, but they still missed loafs of chances to win it. As for commentators, they are mostly highly irritating. Theres one who always comes out with endless pointless stats, bit the co commentators are even worse. Ally mccoist is probably a decent guy, but you can't understand him that well and he says 'it really is' after every point. But goodman or hinchcliffe on the championship games really are the pits

Spurs v Man Utd on 07:33 - Feb 17 by Hayesender | The worst of the co-commentators has got to be Rio Ferdinand. Very limited vocabulary, and what he does say sounds like he's auditioning for the latest Ali G film |
Surely McCoist and his best 'I'll telt you something, I'll telt you something fella that goal was offiside, I said offside, so it was' Rab C Nesbitt impression.

Spurs v Man Utd on 13:17 - Feb 17 by charmr | I did some co commentating for the Kansas City Wizards when MLS first started for the local radio. It’s not easy and the person with you has to help. Guy with me loved the game, limited knowledge so as a mate got me involved. US commentators/ tv execs do not love space just constant talking. Add colours to the picture, now who said that? |
Back in the first attempt to create a "sawker" revolution in the USA i.e. before even NASL, never mind MLS, some of the big TV networks started televising local games. They got Danny "The Prince of Blarney" Blanchflower, a rare educated former footballer in those days, over to co-commentate/analyse. To say the least, he wasn't impressed by what he was seeing in his first game, and called it as it was. Eventually he described something as "dreadful". At half time the Editor called him aside, and gave him an instruction to be "more positive." Second half starts and at the first miskick, Danny observed that "That was positively dreadful". His contract was cancelled after the game... Edit: Omitted to mention that by far the best analyst I ever heard was your old guy, Terry Venables - didn't just tell you what you'd just seen, but explained why it happened. Glenn Hoddle is also a bit like that (if you can stand all his other mannerisms, that is). [Post edited 18 Feb 18:19]
