Too young to be able to help with fan reaction to Jago etc...but I will always remember my first night match.
FAC 3rd round we drew Notts Co at home. If I remember correctly, Chelsea and Fulham were also drawn at home - policing wise, something had to give, so we played on the Friday night.
3-0 by HT, we tore them apart, real signs of a special team developing. Me & my mum sat in the Paddock, near the dug outs, and I can still hear one Rs wag repeatedly shouting out "you must be 'avin' a nightmare down there Sirrel" to the helpless* Notts boss

Personally, I was very disappointed with Gordon Jago leaving & he still remains as my favourite Rangers manager. Also I wasn't impressed with Dave Sexton being appointed, but that worked out well!
I can't recall knowing that Stan had 4 transfer requests, but we did know that all wasn't well with his relationship with the club.
I moved to Suffolk in July 1974 & so my undoubted highlight of the season was winning at home to Ipswich. A bottom versus top match! | | | |

I was in correspondence by email with Jago as he know a my boss. I sent pictures I had with him as a kid at the open day at Ruislip. Replied and a lovely emai from him. I followed up ansking about his departure and the admiral thing. He never replied to that. | | | |
