I've been watching Mr McDonnell's vids for years. First bumped into him when he sold one of my kids a kite on London Bridge.

Thanks, I commented on your Acton thread and have become ever so slightly obsessed with these now. I just purchased the pub walks book as well, looking forward to getting out on some.

Just watched the Paddington one because I used to work in Paddington basin and yes my workplace was briefly shown. I like Paddington, shame the wonderfully named pub Mad Bishop & Bear wasn't shown. 25% off a pint Mondays.
He has a chap called Tom Carradine singing songs and playing piano. Tom specialises n old cockney songs.
I'm going to watch 'em all.

Delighted to have brought this man to a wider audience. Don't hold his Belsize Park, middle class roots, against him

Guided tours like this are always enlightening. Thanks for posting it. I'm not sure that the story about Terry Venables watering the plastic pitch is true though!

Brilliant loved that - Great insight to the history of our beloved Shepherd's Bush. Got to be careful I could become addicted to these.

If you bump into a rather inebriated fellow QPR fan trying to focus on the map in the book during the summer, it may well be me (hic)

Just watched Chiswick to Hammersmith riverside walk, a walk I've done time out of number and could do blindfold.
The brewery, famous pubs, church & graveyard with noted graves, the famous houses inc Jasper Conran's that went for £16.5 million. ( I went up to £15.9 mill but no higher), the sadly filled-in Hammersmith Creek…well worth a watch.

I'm a fan of Jools Guides too. I also follow John Rogers who does similar London guided walks on YouTube. Here's an old one he did of Shepherd's Bush.

Thanks for putting this and the Acton one up.
As a kid who grew up in East Acton and went to secondary school in DuCane Rd & Wood Lane these 2 cover most of my life and I've never really looked at the architecture and history I grew up around.
Fascinating
