Dangers of sentiment 17:41 - Mar 20 with 2275 views | SullutaCreturned | Well we have seen it here first hand, Joe Allen was a great player for us but as it goes (with hindsight) we should never have btought him back. Now our little cousins up the road are having the same issue, looks like Ramsey will miss the rest of the season. Joe and Ramsey btween them haven't started half the games, have they? In football, as the evidence proves, better to be nard nosed?

Don't be surprised if Bellamy brings Allen into the fold full time next season. He has already said he is mentoring Andrews this international break.
Dangers of sentiment on 17:48 - Mar 22 with 461 views | GVJack | We talking about the same Joe Allen as the ones who's still deemed good enough by Craig Bellamy to represent his country? No he's not the Allen of old who would sniff out counter attacks with ease and help dictate play for 90 minutes, but don't underestimate what he's offering behind the scenes. Yes he's having injury issues, and I'm sure he's more frustrated than anyone. But if he's on the right contract with moderate wages I still think he's got at least another season in him where he can come on for the final 20-30 minutes to see games out when we're in a winning position and give our first choice regulars some rest.

How many minutes has he played for us this season? How many matches has he taken oart in? This season he's appeared 17 times for 453 minutes averaging 26 minutes. Last season 19 appearances. for 317 minutes averaging 16 minutes That's 36 appearances averaging 21 minutes over 2 seasons. he can be good enough but he's not fit enough, injured too often. It doesn't matter how good anybody is, we could sign Lionel Messi but if they rarely played then what is the point? he should get his coaching badges and if he's good enough give him a job. His playing days are all but over.

I partly agree. Yes his minutes are disappointing. But if/when fit he can do a job at this level. Ideally (for me) he would take up a player/coach role where he'd have a regular wage/income from the coaching aspect and a pay as you play when fit enough. Win-Win. That's assuming he has interest in coaching with us of course.

Dangers of sentiment on 11:03 - Mar 23 with 266 views | libertyx | Comparison for Joe Allen v Aaron Ramseys return to former clubs. Beginning of this year which was 2.5 seasons for Joe he took part in 60 games. Aaron again beginning of this year 1.5 seasons he played 13 games, i do believe he has played a couple of games in February. Sometimes it works always a gamble as players get older.
