Well we have seen it here first hand, Joe Allen was a great player for us but as it goes (with hindsight) we should never have btought him back.

No he's not the Allen of old who would sniff out counter attacks with ease and help dictate play for 90 minutes, but don't underestimate what he's offering behind the scenes. Yes he's having injury issues, and I'm sure he's more frustrated than anyone. But if he's on the right contract with moderate wages I still think he's got at least another season in him where he can come on for the final 20-30 minutes to see games out when we're in a winning position and give our first choice regulars some rest. | | | |

That's 36 appearances averaging 21 minutes over 2 seasons. he can be good enough but he's not fit enough, injured too often.

I partly agree. Yes his minutes are disappointing. But if/when fit he can do a job at this level. Ideally (for me) he would take up a player/coach role where he'd have a regular wage/income from the coaching aspect and a pay as you play when fit enough. Win-Win. That's assuming he has interest in coaching with us of course. | | | |

Comparison for Joe Allen v Aaron Ramseys return to former clubs. Beginning of this year which was 2.5 seasons for Joe he took part in 60 games. Aaron again beginning of this year 1.5 seasons he played 13 games, i do believe he has played a couple of games in February.
