To me he sounds a tad self pitying and almost as if he edpects sympathy when (in my book) he deserves criminal charges and locking up for what, to myself at least, looks like a covering up of crimes to protect the Churches reputation,

Well we have seen it here first hand, Joe Allen was a great player for us but as it goes (with hindsight) we should never have btought him back.

Now our little cousins up the road are having the same issue, looks like Ramsey will miss the rest of the season. Joe and Ramsey btween them haven't started half the games, have they?

In football, as the evidence proves, better to be nard nosed?

What a blooming strange film though it does sort of capture what life can be like!

The endless reptitive nonsense that we all go through. Does this film just point out how miserable life is or is there another meaning?

It's fine to be in the modern world, lets face it, we ave no choice. Even so we need to be careful because as time passes we hear more and more about the harm technology is doing. That was the case anyway, until noise cancelling headphones, it seems they are damaging young peoples hearing,

European security

bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgq0x30kkldo Sorry but you'll need to copy and paste.

I agree that the UK needs to do more but not by itself. With Trump now POTUS again and the noises he's already made, taken with JD Vance's speech, the whole of Europe needs to rethink.
Do we need NATO still or are we better off with our own, European version. Dowe do away with NATO and have an EDASO...European defence and security organisation.

Is it time to finally accept there is no special relationship with the USA, they treat us as useful fools and drag us into illegal wars and who knows what other dodgy actions. Isn't it time that Europe stood on its own 2 feet?

People know I am not a fan of the EU but if we had a European defence agency and the EU became what I think is all it should be, a trading organisation then it'd be happy days for me.

The USA is also saying the Ukraine won't be joining NATO, another reason to do away with it. We cannot let the USA dictate to us anymore.
The EU needs to reform and dithc the politcal shenanigans and we need a European defence agency.

Keir Starmer today
at 18:18 13 Feb 2025

So 2 tier Keir is backing Rachel Reeves saying that her apparent "lies" about her time at the bank of England were many years ago.

So he's writing the problem off as being in the past so not mattering, he was the one talking about putting trust back into politics so lies very much do matter so Starmers judgement on this is also called into question.

theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/jul/04/keir-starmer-trust-politicians-tories-crisis-politics-labour

The decline in standards in politics has redefined the modern public’s view of politics for the far worse. The British Social Attitudes survey reported last month that public faith in MPs, politics and government has plummeted to historic lows. According to Ipsos, just 9% of voters trust politicians to tell the truth. And only 14% of the public think MPs are in politics to help others, while 69% think they are in it for themselves, according to YouGov.

Labour’s manifesto could hardly be clearer about why this matters and what is at stake. Try this: “There is now a crisis of confidence in our political system’s ability to deliver any [Labour’s own italics] change.” Or this: “Just as corrosive has been the inability of politicians to keep promises.” Or these: “This will require a reset in our public life,” and: “Labour will restore confidence in government.”

Not “will aim to”. Will. A remarkable claim. By contrast, the Conservative manifesto contains not one word about any of this. The Tories are in denial about the crisis in politics and government. Labour seems to get it.

Whether you approve of Keir Starmer’s election strategy or not, it is a matter of observable fact that he has centred it upon the regaining of trust. Starmer regards trust as the precondition for everything difficult that his government will have to do. It is, you could say, Starmer’s secret sixth mission in government.
-------------------------------------------------------------

So it seems Starmers words were hollow, without substance because he alllows a person to be Chancellor who is alleged to be a liar and the BBC has shown the evidence.

Westminster is almost as corrupt today as it was under the tories, time will tell if they are just as useless as the tories were.

Two poor teams on display and what the hell was Kyle Walker up to? Even worse why did that plum of a referee Anthony Taylor book them both?

Walker fouled Hojlund and then faked a head butt, going down quicker than a 20 quid hooker.

He was trying to get Hojlund sent off and should have seen red in my opinion.

Until referees apply the rules properly the cheats will carry on and they will spoil games.
