Reminds me of the old days. Never happen now over here. Would be called off at the first sign of a snowflake. Canadians are hard-core.

Cracking overhead kick. It's been labelled the icicle kick. Also, knee sliding celebrations in the snow. Gotta take your hat off to that.

Snow was the only threat to a game when we had the plastic pitch, if memory serves. I vaguely recall a game, I think against Man City, when it was one of the few surviving games that weekend. Back in the seventies I think. Really shouldn't have been played. Got the feeling we lost one nil too.

Back in 1969 I think, the country was snowbound at the end of this month and about the only game to go ahead was us at Bolton.

Terrible conditions and we lost 6-4!

I remember a game in the early eighties (against Barnsley I think) where snow had cancelled all games but because we had a plastic pitch we could sweep the snow from the pitch and a few fans (including my uncle) helped the ground staff sweep the snow and the game went ahead and was shown on Match of the Day as it was the only game played.

Never mind playing football, if we had snow like that the UK would shut down for a week

Poll: How old is everyone on here?

How the UK is rendered totally disabled by a few flakes often leaves Mrs PH reduced to hysterical laughter. Whereupon she fires up t'internet to get pics/film footage of planes coming and going from her home airport of Montreal, unencumbered by several feet of snow!

Now that's what I'm talkin' aboot. Eh?

Remember that I was there.
Snowed all the way on the coach.
The locals refused to let us into the club at the ground we were freezing.
Daphne got a few of the lads tickets for the stand but the rest of us were on the open terrace.
The local nutters came looking for a fight.
Mick Leach scored in the first minute but it went downhill after that.
The players could barely stand up.
Terrible mistake filled game.
Wouldn't be played these daysķi
