Good point. With finances tight at Leicester and Marti effectively paying half of QPR's compensation figure by foregoing some of the wages and the signing-on fee he was due from Leicester, he may be in a stronger bargaining position than I initially thought. Factor in the prospect of a points deduction looming over the club for alleged PSR breaches, and changing managers suddenly doesn't seem like a good idea. At least not for now. |

Does there have to be a choice? Modern football is a squad game and with so many matches in the Championship we'll need everyone to contribute. |

Interesting that Julien said he pointed that stat out to the team but Jimmy (rightly) refuses to be burdened by the past. |

No offence but I don't deal in ifs and buts, I deal in facts. The fact is that as of today we've won as many if not more games this season than every team in the division bar 3 yet we're 9th. It's the number of defeats that's the difference. Check the table for yourself - it doesn't lie. That's why I'm not downhearted about a draw away following a poor performance. Obviously I would prefer to win the game but if you can't win it, don't lose it. [Post edited 26 Dec 20:06]

Before the match I was looking at the league table and noticed that the only thing that was separating QPR in 8th position from Ipswich in 3rd was 3 draws. Draws play a part as you're picking up points. As the old adage goes, if you can't win the game, try not to lose it. |

I use Merry as Happy is reserved for New Year (though I'm usually merry on both). Anyway, a very Merry Christmas to Rs fans everywhere. |

P.S. Having just seen the highlights, I think the match comms, Beeb and I all got it wrong. I think it was Kone. M'Bengue was stood behind him. EDIT: BBC match report sticking with M'Bengue. However, the official QPR match report states that the ball cannoned off Kone. Either way, one thing is clear. It definitely wasn't Dembele! [Post edited 26 Dec 17:50]

Settle for that. A point away from home should never be sniffed at. |

Silly challenge from Poku after some initial good work. |

That burst from M'Bengue had me dizzy. We appear to have gone back into our shells. Subs haven't had the desired effect. Yet... |

Effort on target alert! Sign of better things to come? |

Indeed. I was about to say the same but was worried I'd confused him for somebody else! |

Triple sub. Poku, Smyth and Hayden on for Dembele, Saito and Varane. |
 | Forum Reply | Pompey match thread at 16:26 26 Dec 2025
Excellent tracking back and tackling from the much maligned Dembele. More of the same please. |

And I thank you! DUNNE!!!! On second thoughts was it Dembele? Or was it Kone? Maybe it was M'Bengue. Comms say it was Stephan. |
