Re comments about abuse to Jimmy Dunne.

I was behind the blokes they didn't abuse him they got his attention during a break in play.
They said to him talk to the other defenders and get them to do their jobs..
Not in an abusive or aggressive way.

And I would pick a 90% Dunne anyway.
He made a mistake who hasn't.

63yrs in September.

I was 9yrs old

My mates dad took us to Southend for the day.
It was a very warm summers day.

We had a Wimpey.
Went to the funfair.
Then to the football.
Rangers won 3-1.
All the people around me were laughing and cheering
I thought football is fun.
On the way home he said we are at home next week would you like to come again.
I did and they won again.
The rest is history.

I have often wondered if as an impressional 9yr old if it was cold and raining and they had lost and everyone was miserable and moaning would I have wanted to go again..

Now myself and 2 sons have been season ticket holders for many years now.

Yea. My dad in his great wisdom kept the programme and the match ticket from the 1967 League Cup Final.
I've still got them in my garage with loads of programmes.i was only 9 on the day but he told me to keep them.
The ticket cost 5 shillings.
I've also got the programme and ticket from Zamora day cost slightly more.
In my wardrobe I've got a TShirt from the Ibiza Cup.⁶
