Hoopsa on Oxford point and Wrexham preview 20:08 - Jan 21 with 429 viewsbosh67

We'll need to go 4-5-1 against Wrexham so we don't get over run. Absolutely can't let Field go. We probably will knowing us. I'd have field and Hayden to hold the midfield and Madsen a bit further forward.

Never knowingly right.

Not sure stuffing up the midfield with Hayden and Field would be the right thing to do as it isn't going to help with the creativity.

Madsen can't play further forward, he admitted that in the W12 podcast last month.

4-4-2 only makes sense if you have two quick/dangerous strikers with a coached understanding. We don't.

I understand your reasoning there. What do you think we could do to make sure we don't get overrun down the middle?

I think you’re right. Hayden, Field, Madsen with Smyth and Vale on the flanks. And Kone up front. Bring Edwards in for Cook.

JS can't change the midfield as he doesn't have the players (been saying for 18 months the CM needs fixing).
The coaches solution, and for me the only one, is to bypass the midfield by hitting it long. Kone as the target, Burrell pace.
It's been working until Burrell got injured, but we have Obikwu now. It will work a lot better Saturday.

Something needs to change for sure - these last two away games have been unacceptable. I would like to see Sam Field reintegrated for Hayden with licence to get forward. Not a revolution, I realise, but it's something.

The trouble is very few players are earning their starts right now. Perhaps Obiku will literally hit the ground running . . .
