Problem is to have a possession based game then you need both CM players to be comfortable on the ball. We only have one, Madsen, while Varane, Field and Hayden are not. It is really easy for the opposition to double up on Madsen and press him knowing Varane etc will do nothing dangerous with the ball. That's why we struggle without JCS stepping up and Chair with his ability to makes things happen in field. Fully expect Norwich and Wednesday to allow us to have the ball, drop in deep and deny space behind. |

It doesn't matter what fans expectations are, only the players can do it. To turn that around at half time is really impressive and a great indication of the character within the team. Any point gained away from home is a good point. |

Some (usual suspects) over reacting to this result/performance. Remember where we were last season compared to this and keep some perspective. We'd have lost this game last season, no doubt about it, but we didn't. We saved a point due to a half time reaction. Wouldn't have done that 12 months ago. Point at WBA and it'll be a good couple of days. |

Sorry, but if you're an 18yo + and the loan is to National League South/North then forget it. Stephen Duke McKenna who played 10 games for us is at Harrogate, bottom two of L2. Betache is in the US at some weird club. We've produced nothing over the past 5 years. Maybe Bennie and the SA lad might come through, but the rest are there to make up the numbers. And I really want the DS to produce players. Why do you think Nourry has said we need to sell? To buy in better players. |

My son and I had the same conversation about 10 minutes in. We looked unbalanced and our left side was never a threat going forward. Saito got a lot of grief on here yesterday, but he was rarely played through. Smyth made little difference. Ronnie Edwards not even in the Southampton matchday squad. Could it be? |

Looks very disappointed when talking about the first half no show. As he says, we won't win if we only play half a game. |

After that stinky first half a draw is a fair result. We would have lost that 12 months ago. |

Hmmmmm, some players picking which games to perform in maybe? Worst half of football for ages. |

I used to work in Claygate, lovely village, though a few Chelsea players live in next door Esher. Lots of Rs fans in Kingston and the surrounding area. |

He's a teacher. The way he talks he comes across as someone who wants his players to learn and improve, I can see why our players are responding. I don't think there is a player who hasn't improved since the opening game. Really impressive. |

Great write up and a great way to start Xmas Day. The next 3/4 games will determine the season and we'll really know if this team can be as good as they are indicating. Now go and back it up Rangers. Merry Xmas to you all. U Rs! |

Did you watch the Boro game last week? Twice, when at 0-0 Smyth went through and had options, and picked the wrong option both times. Not good. I do hope he stays though as I think he is a big personality that is a massive influence off the pitch. Watch his reaction to the Leicester goals, but...... He isn't going to be offered a big money contract, and will he want to be a backup? Part of me hopes he goes back to Leyton Orient, on more money as a starter, and ripes it up. |

Got agree with this, and something not many on here have mentioned - it's Smyths last big contract. If I was him, and been offered a low ball contract then I'd be off. If he doesn't sign, the club will try to sell him in January, Smyth will refuse to leave knowing he can get a bigger contract as a free agent. In June the club says Smyth has left on a free after being offered a new deal he refused to sign. R Block sing 'Smyth you're a c##t' when he returns in opposition colours. Wouldn't surprise me. |
