Good to see that we appear to be addressing 2 fundamental issues in the squad. Get a left back and goalie in…..then onto central midfield |

RIP Kenny. Had such a massive impact on the club with Ollie when we were at our lowest. No way would we have achieved anything without him. |

Yeah me too. He’d be a massive loss. I’m not of the view that we need to sell this summer based on the accounts we’ve seen but obviously we are a selling club. So, what’s price we’d accept? Has to be 10m minimum for me. |

I only saw the highlights but Paraguay, while finishing 6th in South America qualifying, were level on points with Brazil, Uruguay and Colombia. So, they must be a decent side. Looking at USA they have a lot of players (more than I realized) that play in clubs in top leagues in Italy, Germany, France and England. And also play for clubs like PSV. Combined with home advantage, which I think is massive, I think they will give the best teams a very tough test. USA vs Spain in last 16?? Could be a good one. |

Yeah exactly what I thought. Left back at left back, central midfielders in central midfield. I also liked fact that Kane would go further back and then you’d have runners ahead of him to pick pass. Bit like seemed to be when he plays for Bayern. Before when he used to do that there would be a big gaping hole up front. |

Anderson is a definite. He’s been class for England. You don’t think Saka is world class? Kane, Bellingham, Rice are world class too. Midfield and forwards are top class. Defence less so. |
 | Forum Reply | England Thread 🏴 at 14:27 7 Jun 2026
I think Rashford is looking really good. Having him playing at a good level and then Anderson in the side, means we should be at a better level. Especially when you combine with Kane, Bellingham, Saka and Rice who are world class players in my view. We then have the Villa due from the bench to come on and Toney who provides something a bit different to Watkins. So, I’m reasonably positive about this side but the big issue is the defence. I don’t think these defenders are going to keep many clean sheets. No dominant centre half and full backs better at going forward. |

Didn’t they decide to have the lunch break when we had the best weather? Cricket sometimes….i love the sport but sometimes the powers that be don’t help the game! |

I think they need to find a happy medium type of surface. I find tests like this far more enjoyable than the ones where teams make 400odd. Surfaces where teams get 200-300 are for me the best. Obviously this one is too bowler friendly. |

I completely agree on honesty of club. I was talking about how I would feel in Marti’s situation. I would want truth out in black and white. As said, I don’t think the way he left “officially” has reflected well on him and for his career. He could deal with this by putting it out. My personal view, he is saying he didn’t talk to other clubs. But that doesn’t rule out him asking his representatives to speak on his behalf. |
 | Forum Reply | Podcast with Marti. at 11:18 5 Jun 2026
Well if legally I couldn’t I wouldn’t. But obviously that isn’t the case or at least isn’t the case now. So then it depends on how bothered you are about what happened…..if the reasons you left are wrong. I’m not sure it’s a good look for Marti to be looking at other jobs while relatively new here. That was said by likes of Simon Jordan. So, yes I am surprised that Marti has waited to be asked to set the record straight. If I were him, I’d be calling Clive now or W12 podcast for an interview. |

The club accused him of talking to other clubs. He’s saying that is a lie. Yes, managers and agents do talk to other clubs. But to be removed for talking to other clubs but for that to be a “lie” is different in my view. He’s obviously not restricted from saying anything now. If I had been removed for something I hadn’t done, I would want to set the record straight. You don’t want a Mick Beale reputation. |
 | Forum Reply | Podcast with Marti. at 10:51 5 Jun 2026
But he’s obviously allowed to say what he did. So why wait to be asked? |

1) I find it absolutely amazing that someone, who has been accused of talking to other clubs and that was reason for his departure, would not want to address that directly. And would only answer it if he’s asked the question. Come on! I would be absolutely furious if I was him and it wasn’t true. If the time period has passed, get something out there on a qpr podcast. There’s enough of them! 2) for me the pre-season interview and the pre-Leicester one made it clear to me. But of course I’m making an assumption. You and others don’t get that impression, I do. |

Well in his pre season interview, he was asked about support network. Never once did he even mention the manager. It took the ceo to set up the meeting with Francis. I find it incredible that the manager would not have been involved in trying to get a new lad to new country and team to help him with his mental health. He also spoke of no higher motivation for “him personally” than Leicester at home. I’m sure it will come out in future what really happened. |
 | Forum Reply | Podcast with Marti. at 09:59 5 Jun 2026
Ok, so 2 points. If Marti is telling the truth. Why say now and on some random podcast? If you were him and you were allowed to say what happened (clearly he is, otherwise he wouldn’t say it now), wouldn’t you have said that and set the record straight earlier? I would be desperate to clear my name to qpr fans in an interview or write something to set it out. On Madsen, he talked in the pre-season interview about his mental struggles and it was ceo and guy in club shop that he had to talk to. Where was the manager during his mental struggles? Madsen’s pre Leicester home match also showed us what he thought about Marti. |

Yes agree. But that would be the entire club hierarchy, not just Nourry. Would be Hoos and the owners. It’s a big decision to fire him. It’s possible that the board were lied to but I’d like to think they would ask for some proper proof that this was going on. But I have to admit, I don’t really believe Marti here. I used to love the guy but I just don’t really trust him or like him for that matter now. The treatment of Madsen by him sums him up as a person for me. |
