Charlton sold out 14:02 - Jan 23 with 3721 viewsloftboy

Yes a local game (for most not me) but Friday night on Sky, team not playing particularly well at the moment, bloody cracking effort if you ask me.
Glad I booked my hotel and train fare early.

Can you blank out the Colombian Marching Powder lot?
Last time I went in 2015 I’ve never seen that amount of so called supporters shoving that up their hooters.

And it got quite nasty towards the end.

I've done this route a few times, starting at the Pilot and then walking down the river (often with a tinnie for the walk) down to the Anchor and Hope which is a lovely little boozer on the river. Perfect when the weather is nice. Unfortunately got roped into the bloody boat this time, down the Thames in the pissing February rain. Dreading it to be honest.

FYI - Anchor & Hope on the river is temporarily closed. The Antigalican pub by the train station is closed down. The only pub near the ground that I would recommend is the Rose of Denmark which is left and left again out the train station and a bit of a walk.

The Royal Oak on the other side of the ground is definitely a HOME only pub

FFS - I missed out on West Ham tickets as I was to slow off the mark and had very disappointed children. “Don’t worry” I told them “I will get Charlton tickets and we will do that one”

Guess who has been to slow of the mark again……Dad well and truly in the Doghouse again.

Definitely need to up my game…….

Stats are funny aren't they?

You can say there's loads to play for (there always is until you're safe) because we're only 3 points off the playoffs with 18 to go. But...

There are also five teams between us and 6th - not to mention ten points between us and 3rd, and all the top three have absolutely spanked us, showing how far we are off being promotion-material.

Which is fine. I'm enjoying the season, mostly. We're a 12th placed team and that feels about right on form.

Fully fit top scorer, Chair and Saito with wind in their sails, midfield clicking, then maybe yeah, all to play for. Preston will drop out of the six...Just doesn't feel like kind of season for us, not with our best attacking players injured for a while.

Still impressive that 12th placed QPR have sold out to 9th placed Wrexham on a wet, windy January.

I imagine the season wil probably drift a bit now but it's a huge opportunity if we can put a few wins together. In this league it only takes one good week and you are right in the mix.

My hope is we get to April still 3/4 points from Playoffs so we have something to play for in the last few weeks.

Three home games and Charlton away feels very make or break. I’m about 70% sure we’ll bollocks it up and be further away from the playoffs than we are now but now really is the time to kick on.

Would of course help if some of the best players at the club were ever available again. Maybe back when it’s a bit warmer, the season is effectively over and we can’t complain too much about a series of narrow defeats in the horror run of fixtures after these next few games.

If anyone is staying at one of the hotels (Ibis/Premier Inn/Novotel) on Greenwich High Street, or coming through Greenwich Station on the day, good fish and chips are to be had at The Golden Chippy, one of the venerable chippies of London. It's about 5 minutes walk from Greenwich Station, in the opposite direction from the town centre:

There are some pretty poor restaurants in Greenwich town centre because it's so on the beaten tourist track that it doesn't matter to the owners if they serve good food or not - they will always get new business.

Cutty Sark station is closed because the escalators kept breaking down and are being replaced.
