| All A Hard Watch & Struggle on 20:02 - Mar 8 by Hunterhoop | 0-9, isn’t it? But also 0-10 since Steve Cook hasn’t played. Also 0-10 since Edwards went to centre half, I believe. Lots of correlations, difficult to argue what the causation is. Either way, it’s dreadful. Realistically, we’ve been in poor form since we beat Leicester at Loftus Rd. Now injuries have worsened and we have no hope of the play offs it looks and feels like the intensity levels have dropped significantly. |
The season ended when we beat Leicester, Pats on the bak all round lets all laugh at Marti. Been awful ever since. Won 3 games Lost 8 drawn 4
| All A Hard Watch & Struggle on 07:50 - Mar 9 with 876 views | Phildo | For me its actually the ownership we have to look to. I think we are scared to do so given they pump money in but this regime has regularly had it pants pulled down by various now wealthy men at our/ the owners expanse. It has happened again with a CEO talking them round. We have spent the Eze money on a few shiny things and ended up with a totally unbalanced squad. Buying Edwards to please the fans very very typical of the last 15 years or so. As I type its Monday morning and most of us are on the way to work to have the p1ss ripped out of us again. Time for someone else to have a go. Insert cigar smoking meme here. | | | |

Totally agree sir. We can't keep giving our eternal thanks because they keep us afloat. We're not a charity case, most Championship clubs are like that. If they made the right decisions then they wouldn't need to subsidise us so much anyway. If such successful businessmen are happy with the job that their top management are doing at one of their investments, then they have absolutely no idea, or just don't really care very much. They need to sell to people who will be present and know the time of day. And yes, I know that it could all backfire, but it could also work out quite well. Where are they? When was the last time the owners said anything? After firing Ainsworth? Hello? Hello? Hello? Arrggggghhhhh

Yep. 13 points from those 15 games. Everyone believing their own hype. Since then a ton of injuries and no standards. 2 of those wins against Coventry and Hull, because they can do it. More money spent on Edwards and Obikwu. Experienced pros sent on loan or dropped. Downright lies to fans about the state of some players. Season drifting. No better or different to last season, McClaren’s season, Holloway’s season, and more. It’s just we’ve spent significantly more than in those years and it’s effectively money spent against future years income given the amortisation. Now facing a situation where we have to sell well over the next 4 transfer windows, and sell far more than we buy, so squad building ability potentially reduced. Ruben, Hoos, and Reilly has to take stock now and open their minds up to the possibility they have been hoodwinked and have backed the wrong horse. Is it a Japanese proverb that says “when you think you might have got on the wrong train, always get off at the next stop”…

| All A Hard Watch & Struggle on 07:16 - Mar 9 by PlanetHonneywood | That Wrexham (h) loss is looking more and more damaging. We'd have been on 50 points now and had some momentum from it and Hull (a). It's abundantly clear that for now, the back four should be: AM, SC, RD, and RND. The midfield is as weak as piss and devoid of creativity and energy. I'd go five, with three in the middle, and just tell Kone, goal hang to save his legs and get him back to what we signed him to do: notch. Yesterday was embarrassing just how much fitter and faster Boro were compared to us. Our lack of fitness is a joke, BMX Ben and the thinking behind him has to be sent packing and PDQ, so as to allow us to get our act together for pre-season. Yet again for the umpteenth time in the 53 years I've followed the Rangers, we are the authors of our own misfortune! |
Yes that Wrexham defeat was a total kick in the balls but then we did go on and beat Coventry. Back four for Coventry was Dunne Edwards Cook RND. Of course we did have Madsen too, but it was Hayden and no Varane. And Smyth for Saito.

Ah the Leicester game …where the players actually showed some desire and a mysterious chant about Julien Stefan came and went within 90 minutes. All for the benefit of the opposing head coach . [Post edited 9 Mar 14:16]

It should be taken into account that when we beat Coventry they were having their worst spell of the season in terms of away games after Christmas. If we were to play them now we would lose as they have returned to form on their travels. A lot of it relies on catching someone on a loss of form. If we had played Norwich and Southampton the first time a few weeks earlier we may have won when they were in dreadful form with their previous managers. Sadly for us both clubs changed manager's shortly before playing us and look what happened, we lost 2-1 at home to Southampton and 3-1 at Norwich. Timing can be very important in this league. Now is a good time for relegation battlers Portsmouth and Leicester to play us as not only are we a bad side with half the team missing but it looks like we are on the beach already as if we have nothing to play for. Some will say we have a chance against Birmingham as they probably won't make the play offs but in my opinion, Birmingham see themselves as a big club and they have standards so it is still difficult to see us do the basics as well as them if we have no standards. We will need to score first to get anything. A lot has been said how we have lost 11-0 in the last three matches but we have also lost something like 11-2 in our last three games against Middlesbrough. The top 3 don't have parachute money just like us so it shows our player recruiting is lousy. I fear that unless we spend £8-£10 million on a player like Wrexham then we are stuffed. We can't produce our own players and we struggle to improve players bought for up to £4million as they always seem injury prone so we have to sell at a loss. We can't buy improvements and we can't copy Brentford's model so we are stuck in this doom and gloom loop.

I’d turn up myself with some - if I had any money and thought it might get us a result !!! Maybe CharlieBeans can give them some bitcoin vouchers from WH Smith if we win the next game, or we can rent them a Telly weekly, from Rumbelows. [Post edited 9 Mar 16:26]

True form definitely plays a part - just pointing out the personnel we had for that were arguably better than what lost to Boro. Madsen is a big miss, but I'd definitely have preferred Cook and Smyth starting.

I think Reuben and Reilly need to be putting their Chairman on the spot and asking some serious questions of him
