You do over dramatise what I say. I would be absolutely gutted to leave Loftus Road, but it's getting to the point where something has to be done. I usually do talk nonsense, agreed, but I don't share your confidence that the ground would stay safe. If there is no investment in things like the away concourse, then in a few years....all the best.
I don't want to move, I want to stay. I want us to rebuild LR in the right way, but if that is impossible then for me, time is fast running out to do something.
Anyway, you seem to know that the Air Asia Superdome 2.0 is about to be announced, so I (genuinely) bow to your knowledge! |

I imagine Leicester fans get plenty of warmth from winning the FA Cup and Premier League whilst I get my comfort from the odd exciting win in the Championship. Ooooo.
We're not all these other clubs. I don't care about conferencing we will never fill. But we would have better hospitality, facilities and revenue streams and a better capacity. And Loftus Road is decrepit. Might be great and ours but we can't do nothing much longer, it won't be safe.
I wholeheartedly agree with your other points, but I think we need to do both all that and sort the stadium. [Post edited 1 Nov 11:56]

Because I think that sadly Loftus Road is holding us back more and more and we have to get with the times?
Just a difference of opinion mate. You've picked out the worst examples, ignoring the fact that Leicester....er won the Premier League and the FA Cup. If only they had kept at Filbert Street, eh?
Of course it's no guarantee. I would argue it's more guaranteed that if we do nothing on the ground front we will fall yet further behind, year after year. |

That made me snort my vanilla foam latte over my keyboard!
I was a student in Southampton in the early 90s so believe me it isn't jealousy and I don't want us to be them in any way.
As I age into oblivion though, the frustration of being structurally and financially miles behind clubs we used to dick over on a regular basis....gets so frustrating.
But I'm with you, andropause or not. |

A sobering trip really. Thought we did fine for most of the first half but if ever the cliche that the opposition look like scoring every time they attack was relevant, it was here. We played so high and although it was admirable to give it such a go, we were so exposed. As much as I like him, Adamson and his positioning was given a torrid time, Kemper was also put under the pump and we did concede some really sloppy goals.
Second half I thought we were simply outclassed by a far better team. Pleased for Kone, who battled valiantly, Charles was really solid, the others did their best but the weakness of Vale and then Saito in big away games remains painfully obvious.
Then you leave and walk around their cavernous plot of land, all the hospitality and facilities and space....(even though the stadium itself is starting to age a little)....and I just can't quite believe I am almost certainly never going to see that at QPR, as joyous as Loftus Road can be. No bigger a club than us really and yet packing in 30,000 no bother having averaged pretty similar crowds to us in the 90s. No need to wonder why they keep doing so much better than us, season after season. Not sparking yet another ground debate but (in my opinion) unless we are ever lucky enough to have an ownership that can have more of a long-term vision than just trying to get to the PL for one season and keeping the lights on in the meantime, we're just going to get left further and further behind. Yeah, I wasn't relaxing until 80 mins were on the clock. Best bit for me was when we were 4-0 with a minute to go before half time and Swansea were attacking. There was more than one person in the Loft literally begging the ref for the half time whistle.

In the last two games, during the game, England have been 1/100 to win. And they lost both. No out and out pace and no leg spin - it's like we're back in the 90s. |

Agreed, I was in line and thought he got a touch. Not sure it actually deviated the ball, but did brilliantly to get there. Although my mate next to me thought he didn't, so....not 100% |

Absolutely love Jimmy Dunne. Vital to us, the other players seem to love him, always gives his all - and he wasn't even meant to be fit today.

Couldn't agree more that this season is really fair judgement time on Nourry (and the owners, really). We have to be sniffing the playoffs or this plan just is not working.

Brook is a sensational talent. He has it all at his feet if he applies himself in test cricket and just maybe Fleming will get to the bottom of him.
Much as I like seeing England do well, I still run pretty cold at swipe after swipe after swipe going into the stands. Give me the SA v Aus test any day, proper cricket. |

Hate the bit where they keep panning to the United away end and how it is emptying. "Best fans in the country", always so loyal, blah blah blah blah blah, getting soaked, blah blah.
Yeah, they travel to Como and other European places to watch Fernandes and Mbuemo.
What about going to Grimsby on a Tuesday night with Steve Slade upfront? I know who are the more admirable fans. |

It's a fair point, TK, that I've gone early to call it a farce. But it's not looking good so far, is it? Of course he is quality. But what's the point in that for 1 game every two months and he could have lost us the game at West Ham if it wasn't for Charles? Naturally I very much hope we fix him and he comes good, but sadly the writing is on the wall and it is writ large.
I echo someone's point before on this thread. We're QPR, not Carshalton. We're an attractive proposition, love to throw money around, so can't we sign players who are both physically robust AND talented? Just means we have to sign fewer of them to keep within budget, no?
I just think we've got a bit stuck with this belief we can get great bargains on crocks. Hasn't exactly been a success yet, Field apart. |

The thing is, of course the Lamptey signing was welcomed by the fans. It was a signing. Of someone we had heard of. That's all the fans want isn't it, these days? To "win" the transfer window. To be cooking. #announceanyone
I'm already reading that we need to sign strikers in January. We've got Kone, Burrell, Lloyd, Virat ... why on earth should we need to sign more? Are we Nottingham Forest?
I mean, with a cool head, the Lamptey signing was a total farce. Basically saying Fiorentina are morons and we have the healing properties of Lazarus. Is there really a "shot to nothing" in football? Are we not paying him? Is he not using up a squad place? Is he not meaning that we are ending games with 10 men?
How about a new plan of making fewer signings, using the extra budget to buy players who are...you know....fit? Durable? |

The sight of Lamptey at West Ham being barely able to move to help his team mates in the last few minutes summed it all up for me. I mean I'm sure Fiorentina were totally shocked, having ripped up a 4 year contract on a £5m signing 3 years early.
I know he was seen as a worthwhile roll of the dice, but....we've gambled on signing crocks, we've gambled on keeping the same medical team in place.....and at the moment it's been about as successful as any of my accas.
It may be our strongest squad on paper for many years, but as the cliche goes, football is actually played on grass.
Still, I am sure we will go out in January and sign another ten players to keep the plan chugging on!
Totally unconvinced by it all. |

In such a packed season I really don't think a defeat at Brum is much to panic about, but it does make you fear for what's going to happen in the next two games. Swansea will obviously be very tricky, never mind Southampton away. We really need to win one of those to cement our place in the top half rather than slide down back towards our natural home and then feel the confidence draining out of the whole place in that inevitable "here we go again" fashion. Just feel like that with the real potential of having a better squad this time around, we need to keep believing and it will help if we keep in the top half for now, of course. |
