I concur, terrible disease, one of my uncles had it my Mothers youngest brother, he suffered with prostate cancer for years nothing went well with the treatment and his Wife and my Mother believe that it was the various drugs he was given to control the cancer, lovely man he was like an older brother to me. I visit care homes regularly and the worst aspect is how you have a conversation on one visit then the next they have no idea who you are although they do the dog
Sometimes the dog brings back memory of a dog thru night have had
Many are bed bound and ask if they’re going home tonight ?
I’m quite a hard nosed chap but this never fails to cut me to the quick
It’s sometimes a slow continued decline into oblivion
It’s obviously hrllish painful for families
It’s not unusual for a visiting spouse to be truly sharp yet their partner is drifting away back to baby , helpless

So sad for anyone to endure but knowing from a distance a man who in his prime was a giant makes it more poinant ,I'm lucky that none of my family have so far not contracted the disease so I've never had to witness the pain and heartache it must bring but good for you that you take time out to visit as you do. | |

I read that his family quote his serious Covid illness hit him a hard and he did not fully recover. So many today saying this whole thing was a hoax . Not the case. I managed never to get It thankfully. |  |

Nothing like a visit to appreciate how life can change and do so very suddenly
I’ve tried a few John Cale songs on them and funnily enough Dying on the Vine went down well especially the chorus .,. I was thinking of my mother

I'd rate Tosh very highly. His leadership of our fairytale rise from the basement to the old First Division guided us to what I'd rate as our greatest achievement, even above what we achieved with the EPL and League Cup. I was fortunate enough to see many games as we rose through the leagues with three promotions, several of which featured towering Tosh headers. My sister and me were living in different parts of the country but we hooked up at most away games
They had a Lancia to go to the games until it blew up
