| England World Cup Squad 13:04 - May 22 with 7428 views | union_jack | For those who follow and support England, the squad has been announced. Some strange choices. Notably Maguire dropped in favour of Dan Burn. I would have thought the intangibles of taking someone if Maguire’s experience would have put him right up there as first on the squad list. I suppose Jordan Henderson will fill that role now as ‘father of the squad’. I’m also a bit disappointed that Max Dowman hasn’t been included. This guy is going to the very top and blooding him young would have been great for his development both domestically and internationally. 🏴 | |

Thats strange considering its where you live. But therfore you should be able to understand some English living in Wales not wanting to have anything to do with Welsh language or culture.

I totally get English in wales with no interest in the language and culture, it’s the Welsh I don’t understand. Me living here is the same as a swans fan living in Cardiff.

What do Liverpool, Leeds or Newcastle have similar to the Urdd and National Eisteddfod. I have been to similar events in Cornwall but not in the cities you mention.

Nowt Same as the Urdd is irrelevant to most Swansea people from the likes of Penlan , Blaenymaes and Townhi where the culture there is the same as any large estate from the towns I’ve mentioned Are you seriously telling g me most give a monkeys about grown men parading around like KKK or bellowing Welsh verse to an adoring audience of Welsh Urban Welsh culture is the same anywhere on England and “ culture” takes second place to providing for a family and aspirations Rural folk and Welsh academics revel in it for sure but not for a nanosecond think all agree with you [Post edited 27 May 15:34]

There are now Welsh medium schools in Penlan and Blaen-y-maes. I would say that differs from the towns you mention. You have been away from Swansea to long to be relevant. More than 8,000 children from Swansea/Neath Port Talbot compete in Urdd events evey year. [Post edited 27 May 15:48]

But England is the occupied territories, it all belonged to the forefathers of the Welsh, now these settlers are coming into Wales itself, they want to be Welsh, they even call themselves British to be like us. They even try to pinch our hero's like king Arthur, who actually was fighting the 'vile' Saxons, you can't make it up. Some of them want to keep their Germanic culture but in fairness lots of them want to integrate and sent their child to Welsh medium schools. The Welsh mindset in England is understandable as is a lot of the English mindset in Wales.

In which case ,don’t bother with me There may well be Welsh medium schools but that doesn’t mean Penlan is akin to Maesygerchyn in Bangor . Utterly different . I still have family back there ,friends too. You obviously do not know the “ culture” issues of the big English cities . I will make it easier . Tara

I think if you look back you asked me a question and it was common courtesy to reply, if you dont like factual replies just ignore me and dont ask me a question. You put me on ignore before but can't help yourself and took me off ignore. Self discipline is the key, read what you want and ignore whatever you like, but to get upset when replies prove your agenda to be wrong is just silly. As I say communicate with those you wish and ignore those you don't. Anyway enjoy your day, the sun is shining and im going back in for another swim before the tide is right out.

Question for you. England v Italy, 6 Nations at Twickenham. Both going for the title. Who would you want to win? Honest answer.
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Italy 100% England Rugby for me represent the brown suede boot wearing. chinos and lambswool jumper wearing arrogant t**tbaskets of the establishment. Snotty public school oafs. See also Quins, Sarries and Leicester fans... If it was football then England 100% There are fine margins and nuances in sporting rivalries some of it inexplicable on the surface to a foreigner but we have a broad understanding of it ourselves. Much of it is class based. [Post edited 28 May 23:40]
