It's been bought by a company that has the freehold for many of the shops in King Street, so unlikely to reopen as a pub. Hope I'm wrong. | | | |

The Walkabout in Cardiff is just about to close as well. Don't think there's many of those around anymore?
Do the backpackers from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa have their own bars anymore? I know it used to be the red back, the church and the Walkabout. If I'm not mistaken, all of them have disappeared over the years. [Post edited 22 Aug 11:18]

It'll soon be the case that to go to an English pub, you'll need to get the Eurostar or a flight from your local airport, to a European city with an English 'themed' pub in its ranks! |  |

The No.8 in Willesden High Road (fka The Case is Altered) is still going as a backpacker hostel.
Not been in there in many a long year but it looks more like a hostel with a bar rather than the pub with rooms upstairs that it used to be! |  | | |
