This lad didn't exactly pull up any trees on loan in a very poor QPR team a few seasons ago.
Since then he's been at Villa and Everton, started less than 50 games, scored zero goals & 4 assists.
How da fuq does that make him worth 22 million?!?!?!?!?
Someone should show Hull a video of that match when we let in 6 up at soon-to-be-relegated Blackpool. Iroegbunam's attitude that night was a disgrace. Unbelievable lack of effort.
That's what Hull will be getting from him in 12 months time when they're back in the Championship.

Some amazingly tight knickers getting in a twist about a transfer between Everton and Hull here, on this QPR forum.
Just to correct the OP: it's a £12 million transfer upfront, with add-ons that could come to £22 million. If he achieves those add-ons, he'd be worth it.
Bearing in mind he cost Everton just over £9 million two summers ago, has since played 50 games, with 30 coming last season when he was good value in that team.
So, a £3 million mark up in two years of PL football for a mobile, strong, technically sound 23-year-old English midfielder seems reasonable, perhaps even decent value in today's deadline day market. |

.Can't agree. Tim was and no doubt still is class. He could rob opposition midfielders with his long legs and take off with the ball before they knew it. He was also excellent at picking up dangerous runs and cutting them out. HIs success at PL Clubs since he left us is all the proof needed that he is some Player. |  | | |

To answer your question, Iroegbunam started 17 PL games for the Toffees last season and clocked up just under 1,500 minutes in the PL

I agree with you that some of the transfer fees lavished on TI seem excessive but those are decisions made by the clubs who are obviously trying to work the financial rules to their advantage. You can't blame the player for that.
At 23 he has 60 appearances and over 2,300 minutes in the PL under his belt.

He was a 19 year-old PL wonderkid in the Villa academy, lent in September to QPR, at that time top of the Championship and playing dynamic possession based football under progressive coach Mick Beale, who insisted Iroegbunam was the final piece in his puzzle...and then bailed.
By the bleakest of mid-winters, Iroegbunam was playing anti-football in a seemingly inevitable relegation team for Gareth "possession can do one" Ainsworth and scoring an absolutely vital winning goal against Watford in Ainsworth's first win in 13 matches.
Jimmy Dunne was piss poor in that run too and he's our club captain rock now, so time's have changed.
Anyway, here's the Athletic asking "Is Tim Iroegbunam the heir to Idrissa Gueye - and the Premier League's next great ball winner?" as recently as May this year. Based, one assumes, on his performances in the PL over the last seasons, rather than un Ainsworth in the Championship three years ago.

Ainsworth didn't become our manager until 21st February 2023.
So it's to TI's credit that he had to play under three contrasting managers that season.
Looking at the data TI was ninth for us in minutes played that season. Not bad considering his age and that he missed the first few weeks of the season.
