C-mob 01:41 - Sep 25 with 3843 views

Apologies if mentioned before and if subject matter discouraged Clive please delete.

Stumbled across a video about them on you tube. Knew a couple of them and got a passing nod as they went their way and I went my mine.

Witnessed them running amok many times including a help yourself feeding frenzy at a service station coming back from Oldham one year.

As an observer I was always proud however weird that sounds.

From memory the C mob sort of formed during the early eighties when Chelsea used to come to Loftus Road and take over the place without any resistance.

Whilst not the biggest firm they became well respected within that circle as pound for pound a very tidy well organised unit. I witnessed them a few times away from home especially at Luton one time in the mid eighties.

The core all seemed to be Notting Hill and Ladbroke Grove chaps and as said above many have now passed away but I do still see some old faces at games every now and then.

My claim to fame was a game back in the early eighties when Spurs tried to take the loft (it was pay on the day back then) and and it all kicked off around me so I decided to throw a few right hooks myself (in self defence of course) and the spurs fans were chased out of the loft back onto the concourse and out into Loftus Road. Whilst not proud of it I must admit to at the time being pleased we stood our ground and sent them packing. Explaining my black eye to my mum and dad afterwards was another story.

Anyway yes they were a thing back in the day before ecstasy and the acid house scene arrived and the football fighting rivalry seemed to disappear overnight.
