All this protection of Warnock... 22:59 - Jan 8 with 952 views | alexferguson60 | I am absolutely stunned about how many people have jumped to the support of Neil Warnock after his sacking. If they care about the club, then they'd care about the results. We are in absolutely freefall - there's no doubt about it. We are one point off the relegation places, and we've just drawn 1-1 with MK Dons with the team looking uninterested and shambolic. But the thing that has really, really irked me all the way through the season - and I have been to a lot of games this season is that the team has consistently made the same mistakes over and over again. Our short passing in midfield was absolutely dreadful, and our defensive mistakes led to goals on almost every occasion. And up front, Warnock's decision to play most of his games with one man up front killed us when we'd looked best - against Man City and in the second half against Spurs (in my opinion (I missed the Stoke and Newcastle games)) when we were played 4-4-2. What angered me is that those mistakes were made week in, week out - and those mistakes simply HAD to be blamed on the manager. After all, there is training in the week that should eliminate these mistakes over time, no? Also what killed Warnock was a little thing called luck. We haven't really had any up to now. But then again, we haven't really made any of our own, either. Onwards and upwards.

NW single-handedly brought pride back to a club that was a total laughing stock. If you can't understand that then it's not even worth entering the debate.

But we don't all share your low standards and lack of ambition. Alex, don't listen to his mug, you are spot on.

Low standards? Do me a favour. Are you one of these mugs who just turned up in the last 12 months because there seem to be an awful lot of you about just lately. But you miss my point. A man who has taken a team from close to relegation to league one to champions of the championship in 15 months probably deserves a bit of respect, and, maybe, the benefit of the doubt. Particularly as effectively he only had a week of transfer time in the summer and was forced to try and build a side with free transfers like Danny Gabbidon on Kieron Dyer. Listen to this and learn: This club is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY no matter what happens, to win a major trophy in the next 50 years. The chances are virtually nil. Even when money wasn't such a big issue all we have to show is one League Cup. It's great to be ambitious - I want us to be ambitious. We should be ambitious. But you also need to have some sense of reality.

And as for being 'just happy to be in the Premier League', I'm not ambitious because I think we should be in the Champions League places, I'm ambitious for us to stay up -and frankly the piss-poor offerings on the pitch - particularly at home - cost us. Having said that, I'm absolutely sick and tired of us losing every week and seeing us make the same mistakes week in, week out. Those mistakes HAVE to be rectified on the practice field, and if they weren't, the blame comes down to one man - and that man just got his P45.

Shame that you cannot see a good post when you read it but you never can......NW was struggling and has been for some time - all we can do is look back to last season and congratulate him. This is 2011/12 now.

A good post? Now who has low standards! Try and read what I'm saying, gazza, just for once. If you and Alex are pleased he's gone then fine. That's your prerogative. It may even be the right decision. What annoyed me was Alex's inability to see *why* people might want to defend NW or be upset that he's gone. That's all. Can you *understand* why people might feel this way? Or not? I mean, you can disagree with it, just as I usually disagree with you - but that's something else entirely. Even when you're talking rubbish I might be able to see where you're coming from. Do you see?

Fergie, re-read my post and yours and my initial reply was OTT. Apologies. Just think it's totally understandable why people would still support NW, that's all.

All this protection of Warnock... on 23:29 - Jan 8 with 743 views | Beds_Ranger | Well, this is a great thread to split the support. I for one would rather be relageted with Warnock than try to buy success with some one else. It's easy to see he had to build a squad with no money in the summer and had a few days after the take over. Who cares if we drew with MK dons, I'd rather he rested the few players he had than wasted them on a cup run. Maybe giving Faurlin the day off would have been a good call. We don't have a good squad at the moment, so with a few missing, we're going to struggle against anyone. Those who crave success and staus above our standing shoud maybe ship out to Chelsea. We've always been the underdogs and I thought that's how we went about it. But clearly a few quid in the board room and it's europe or bust for some. I'd love to stay another season in the prem, but haven't we learnt anything from sack the manager syndrome? I think our home form has a lot to do with the t wats who are on the teams back every time we go backwards. A lot of teams do this and are cheered by their fans. Not us, as soon as a defender doesn't place the perfect ball through for a goal, there's moaning and chuffing about how useless we are. I don't really care who comes in now, I don' think they will do a better job than Warnock having a few quid to spend and getting some quality players signed in January. It's not rocket science, a few decent defenders and a goal scorer. Feeling a bit sick and pissed off. Oops just got a "Post contains unaccepable language". Not sure if this is for the use of Chelski or t w a ts .

No I cannot see what all the fuss is about or what you are against......it is a results game and he aint done theat too well over this season. He has not be up to the standard, we need, and we need to act quickly and not waste lots of much needed money and time. Thankyou for your efforts over the past 22 months or so. Never did like the man as a person anyway and didnt whilst he was here, just tolerated(& supported) him whilst he was delievering and he aint been doing that - no time for sentiment in football in 2012. Move on - it happens. He probably could not give 2 hoots anyway, just lost a bit of pride - shame.

Nail on head. Showing respect is not the same as showing blind loyalty. I have the utmost respect for the job Warnock did in the championship but last season is now irrelevant. Ultimately he has fallen short at this level (again) and had to go. Tony and Amit have shown the utmost respect in the manner they relieved Neil of his duties.

In many ways yes but the possibilities are endless if we stay up. New stadium, training ground, academy, etc. This could go up in smoke if we're relegated.
