....and my marrows are ripe for roasting, do you opt for just minced beef and onion or take the tomato option and go all italian? They are fck off cooks but for me keep it simple. My marrows this year would put john holmes to shame.

My W12 neighbour used to grow them on top of his anderson shelter. When ripe he would cut the top off , fill with water and sugar , put top back on and leave to ferment into marrow wine.

Something to be said for stuffing them with mince and onions but a lot more for just eating the mince and onions and throwing the marrow onto the compost. Tasteless bloody things, I'd never voluntarily use up soil to grow them.
