Having just moved norf (I know...), did my first Wigan <--> HQ commute on Tuesday. Not a bad journey, and certainly a round trip is very do-able on a Saturday, if a little expensive...

Can't be too many of us up here, but any hints 'n' tips (or even car shares) from my new neighbours?

My brother is in Manchester for uni. Makes regular commutes down. Came to Birmingham last weekend. Your pretty well placed to hit a lot of the dodgy Northern games, Blackburn, Burnley ect, without having to worry about travel.

Moved up to Marple outside Stockport 6 months ago.

Got down for the first few games and it's good up here for a load of away days. Gen gone down by train so far, like you so pricey, but doable.
