The interviewer used to do loads of boxing stuff and followed him on twitter because of it. Seems to have turned his hand to footballers and managed to bag the big one, the rat. |

So we have changed the manager, chairman and strategic direction. Who is responsible? My guess is Fernandes wanted out and convinced Amit to take it on. There is no way Amit as a minority shareholder could have demanded it. However, it is not the world’s most desirable position so my guess is Amit wanted some stuff sorted before he would agree to take over. Given the timeline my guess is Amit (alongside Tony/Ruben/Les) didn’t rate Holloway but aware of his popularity with some sections of the support didn’t want to come in and sack him. So Fernandes got rid first. Be interested to know who made the final call on McClaren. Beyond that who has authorised brining in expensive loans at the expense of the younger players. Much was made of being a club with a gateway in to the first team. While Eze, Lumley and some others are good evidence of that the general treatment of younger players this season has been noticeably poorer. Who has allowed McClaren to do this? Seems to fly in the face of everything Ferdinand has spoken about. Hoos while a pragmatist at heart always comes over as a long term planner. So is it Amit, Fernandes, Ruben pushing for a change in direction or McClaren somehow convincing the board as a whole to rip their plans up and trust him ala Redknapp? Goes without saying I’ve no idea, anyone know? |

| Forum Thread | A rumour... at 12:48 10 Aug 2017
Disclaimer - This has "Goldfish's previous owner great uncle told me" wrItten all over it - Talking to a mate's mate on Sunday who said he lives near a sports editor of a well known broadsheet. They were talking recently and he was told that there were serious whispers that a recent premiership winning team had key players on performance enhancing drugs, combo of injury recovery and better stamina. He told me the team name, but not sure re libel etc if I can put them up? Northern might know? The editor gave the impression it was being looked at by a number of newspapers and rumours were swirling but nobody ready to publish yet. My instinct was sounded unlikely, but curious if anyone heard the same thing? |

That time again. Resident LFW tipsters step forward and help out the ignorant one week a year punters... Been some brilliant tips on here over the years - what you thinking for this week? |

Anyone else just seen his Austin analysis? Apparently until he went to Southampton he was only half the player. He has added a high work rate to his game now and become a real team player. Jamie sagely explained that he had watched him closely at QPR. His being one of the hardest working strikers I've ever seen at Rangers must be my imagination then, give me strength. |

It's an odd interview, filmed in the back of a cab about all things London - someone less technogically useless may be able to put up a link. First question - who plays at loftus road? Answer: a spluttering no idea. Outrageous! |

Some great performances today, Clint Hill was magnificent, as was James Perch who put his body(or to be accurate head) on the line for the cause. Continues to look a completely different player. Ned and mackie seemed to struggle defensively as a unit and felt it was a bit too easy for them to get a ball in with us standing off. Mackie tried as always, but was off the pace and prob weak link today. I thought polter was good, scored, put himself about and went for a few through balls which either didn't quite come off but you could see what he was doing, or did and Cherry really should have done better. Junior had a decent game, just here and there he switches off and Smithies was giving him an earful on a couple of occasions for not properly tracking. That said he worked his socks off, made some great challenges(!>) too. A draw wasn't complete unfair, it was an even game, just annoying they scored so late and just after cherry missed the chance of the game. Reffing diabolical throughout, both sets of supporters giving him pelters - esp their end, seemed massively out of his depth to me. |

Can anyone summon up a worse pair of regular starting full backs? I've been going since 86 and can't think of any. |

Quietly confident we need not worry about losing Matty Phillips during forthcoming transfer windows. Our fan base, hitherto divided, seems increasingly united. Christopher Ramsey, team building expert ( he writes the courses) playing no small part. Likely to see a lot more of JET in the next few weeks. Extremely positive news for JET fans. |

What a difference a goal makes! Huddersfield Worked v hard to stop us getting going but lacked quality up top - though scannell had konchesky on toast. Rangers support muted for much of the game and around me there was a growing irritation that Ramsey wasn't changng things up. Draw would have been fair, but the big difference to recent seasons is we have midfielders and wingers who make lung busting runs in to the box and today that made all the difference. Finally Hall was superb, nedum v good too. Makings of a really good partnership there. [Post edited 29 Aug 2015 18:55]
