I do sometimes think that we live in our very own difficulty bubble. It feels like we are singularly affected by the tough schedule, small squad, everyone else is well set up thing. At least there is the concession that we have been absolute w*nk over the last few weeks and it needs to improve.

Particularly weird comments about BOS. Training very well, we want him to play, he knows what we think of him, need our best players, different rules, compensation, tribunals!!!??

What does any of it mean or am I just a bit (or a lot) thick?

Never knowingly right.

Good interview. Much more realistic, but also much more positive.

What do you think he meant by tribunals and such like in the interview, Brian?

Never knowingly right.

"We've got to be angry, we've got to respond. As you rightly say we've had a bad fortnight".

Best, most realistic thing I've heard from him in a while so fair play on that.

Wasn't it just that if he leaves us on a free the compensation due to us would be set by a tribunal, Bosh?

Really don't know what else he is expected to say on any of that! I know we're all pssed off after Tuesday but as the manager, you see the team play really well for 25 mins but then make one stupid mistake and collapse afterwards, and it must be soul-destroying.

I'm sure we're not the only people who noticed Dickie's hands-on approach, but if the player has been told to stop it but goes ahead anyway, it's not the manager's fault at that particular moment. The collapse after conceding is a big concern that MW must be addressing but in all the comments on here this week, I haven't seen one single constructive suggestion about how you deal with it. I know I wouldn't know where to start.

Good points. The thing that will concern him as you say is our response. Last season before the pandemic we could go down a goal or two and you always thought we could get it back because they just dug in and went for it. I thought we had repaired that glimmer of doubt against Luton at the end of last season where you just knew we would get back into the game. This season and lately heads have dropped and that confidence has drained away.

Coupled with new strikers stepping up rather than down, one new winger and another in dispute, a disaster injury to a player that finally looked like he could be a real influence and new defenders stepping up and not being the most physical of players to cope with the biggest nastiest or quickest of forwards, it's a tough job.

We need to find a system that feeds our forwards better. They aren't even getting the service to really miss chances and given our lack of real height and pace we need to be more physical in midfield.

My big concern is pace this season, mainly at the back. Fans at Oxford lauded Dickie for being a fine ball player but said he got done for pace regularly when left exposed. And that is at level 3. For a 24 year old that may not improve and he needs to learn how to read the game better to get that yard of thought on opponents because the grappling and shirt pulling is usually a clear indication that you've been done for pace.

I'd also like to see Willock start games and inherit the BOS position if BOS leaves or break with my preferred two wingers and put him left Dykes centre and Bonne right of a front three. He's a hugely talented player and has that Adel/Eze slick play potential. Or cultivate him as the playmaker.

Never knowingly right.

You pretty much sum up very well my thoughts on the team. We do lack physicality and heads go down so easily, for me watching the PNE game, as soon as their first penalty went in, visably lost it. Also we have to find a way of shifting the ball quicker from defence, through midfield. At the moment it is all too laboured going accross the back line. Hopefully a couple of tweaks to the midfield set up may inject a bit of urgency in playing through the midfield. If Thomas gets fit might be that player, would also give Bettache a go at filling role in the centre of midfield.
