Qpr autobiographys 21:55 - Apr 1 with 2834 views

Hi all

Just came across the soon to be released Gavin Peacock autobiography on Amazon and got me thinking which other former players has played for QPR and written an autobiography.

I know about Barton and Crouch. any others?

Ah yes Neil Warnock's was great. Have a signed copy when he came to Waterstones. Olly would be well worth a buy. Thanks buddy

Stan's one was tremendous.

Good shout on Stan, march and masson. Will check those. We don't seem to have any from the Ferdinand, McDonald era it seems

'Sir Les' was published in 1997 but I don't know if it has been updated which would definitely make it even more interesting...

I’ve read Rodney’s and Stan’s. I’m not one for football players autobiographies but these are great. And as I’ve just finished it I’d also recommend a partly autobiographical book by a QPR supporter. Robert Elms’ London Made Us It has a modest number of Rs references but it’s just a great book - a wonderful evocation of London Town.

Les's 90s one is a bit dull.
Ollie's one for me, contrary to the above was not great, but not bad. Prob most interesting stuff was the appalling way he was treated by Wally Downes when at Wimbledon.
Stan's - great.
Barton's - excellent, even though i don't like him. Far better than most.
Dave Thomas's deserves a read as was written to raise money for Guide Dogs. Good book.
Rodney's 'loose canon' is entertaining, but a bit silly most of the time.
Leroy Rosenior's is excellent, but some tough reading when you get to the QPR bit. Fenwick don't come out of it well.
Crouch you mentioned.
Warnock's latest one has loads on QPR and is really good.
Clive Allen's came out recently, i have it, but haven't read it yet.
McLintock has got one, but haven't read it.
Seaman did one a while back which is ok, fair bit about Rs in it.
Paul Parker's supposed to be good but haven't read it.

Just re-read Stuart Pearce's autobiography and although he says that, as a teenager, he was a firm supporter of QPR, he went on to name his daughter Chelsea!

I find that quite astonishing to be honest, although we did, as he puts it, 'give him the elbow' after he trained with us as a 13 year old so maybe that has something to do with it!

John Barnes has a pretty average autobiography, but he has a pop at QPR for treating him badly at a trial so he joined Watford instead. Imagine we had him in 94’.

Not bothered about Pearce we had two better fullm backs at the time
