Blaming the officials is a poor excuse 13:40 - Mar 6 with 1295 views | wortonranger | I had the rare chance to get to the game yesterday and it proved a timely reminder of the escapism football brings us from the stresses of the real world. Instead we get them in our own microcosm of supporting the Rangers. It’s understandable that we have passionate contributions on here..because we are proper fans of a proper club. However, all this blaming the officials for somehow being on a personal vendetta to make us lose is just as nonsensical as all the other conspiracy drivel out there in the fantasy world some of us prefer to reality . Specifically, challenge re goal number one was a 50/50 call. The one Sanderson got away with re Blackpool was similar and we got that one...even though he subsequently threw away any advantage. Our error. From when their sub got the ball we were slow to react, he was skilful and scored what was on later viewing, a really good goal. Their second goal. Clear, unnecessary shirt pull, free kick was taken from exactly the right spot and they have a genius free kick taker that knocked our comparable attempts for six....please remind me when we managed to score directly from one? Incidentally, Blackburn also scored directly with one too. So excellent skill which we failed to match. True turning points? Their excellent double substitutions early in second half and the horrendous hash Gray made of a very presentable chance to settle the game. Oh and the frankly idiotic “Oleing” of a string of passes that went nowhere twice well before the game was won. In truth, we were not good enough in all respects from management through to all of the team. Out thought, out fought ought played.

The goal he scored was a great first time finish. I thought he was pretty good yesterday, maybe his best game for us.
Blaming the officials is a poor excuse on 14:05 - Mar 6 with 1199 views | ed_83 | I don’t think it’s an either / or thing to be honest: both of the decisions not to award fouls against Dickie and Dunne in the build up to each goal were wrong (the Sanderson one was a foul too in my opinion) and contributed directly to us losing the game. But the fact Cardiff were in a position to take advantage of them, and the lack of a response once we went behind, is entirely on us. Completely agree that talk of a vendetta against QPR is overblown, as is saying that we *only* lost because of the ref, but the poor quality of officiating was a factor, and is still totally fair to comment on I think. Also not really a major point but ole-ing was because the ball boy nicked the towel Cardiff had been using to dry the ball off for long throws, and it was being lobbed around R block.
Blaming the officials is a poor excuse on 14:18 - Mar 6 with 1174 views | andrew1302 | The reason we lost was because in the second half we decided we were much too good and started showboating around. Little flicks and passes going nowhere at a snail's pace. If we had upped the tempo we would of won easily. I sit right at the front of the upper loft and the Gray chance was not that easy . It was 1/2 a yard in front of him and he actually did well to get a foot to it at all. Where do i see the problem? In the midfield. If you play tiny tots up front against 6 foot five defenders it is all about the pace you can get the ball moving forward. It just not happen in our midfield. I think Field is excellent but we need someone in the middle working the ball fast. I said before the game we would see what Hendrick was like today and frankly he did not make it happen. He was too slow with the ball and did a lot of sideways and backwards. When we were at our best we had Johansen making great passes, Barbet knew who was on his side when he passed and Dickie was making runs from the back which were supported by the midfield. To move forward we need more pace in the side . A fast forward and someone with a bit of vision in the midfield who still has pace in their legs. And finally can someone please stop Barbet taking freekicks. I have almost been hit by about 50 now . He has to my knowledge only ever got one on target which was down the goalkeepers throat. He is dreadful and comparing the two freekicks yesterday was emabarrassing.
Blaming the officials is a poor excuse on 14:29 - Mar 6 with 1149 views | Blue_Castello | It's interesting to get other people's view points but to say out thought, out fought, out played is surely way over the top, for 70 minutes we were the better team, at the game we described Cardiff as bang average up until the 70th minute. We definitely were the better team in the first half and could have come in 2-0 up at half time, it just seemed in the second half we played as if we thought we had already won the game. Unfortunately the Cardiff goal seemed to totally deflate the players and the energy levels dropped, then Cardiff quickly score a second and unlike earlier in the season we were unable to create a comeback, from the 70th minute onwards Cardiff were in control and had the game won.

I fear some people are still mourning the dearth of sack cloth and ashes in their lives. It's the new self flagellation.

Blaming the officials is a poor excuse on 14:52 - Mar 6 with 1093 views | OldPedro | I think the general standard of officiating is poor in this league currently and unfortunately seems to be deciding factor in many of the close games - sometimes in our favour, sometimes against us. I spend most games having no idea what is/isn't a foul any more - officials don't even seem to be consistent within the same minute, let alone between games
