Those Lionessess Again (Well Four Actually) 09:37 - Dec 31 with 1962 views | PlanetHonneywood | Maybe the Establishment has declined to follow the precedent of awarding gongs carte blanche to all the members of a squad that win a major trophy, but only four got gongs in the NY’s honour list. Seems harsh on those who figured in all of the games and it is, after all, a squad game. Then again, it was embarrassing when all the England cricket squad got gongs for an Ashes win in 2005, some of whom were just a twelfth man! But surely Earps, Kerr, Hemp, Bright, Walsh, and Stanway whom I believe played in all the games, plus Toone, Russo and of course, our own Ms. Kelly, were worthy of recognition too.

I totally agree with the OP, I also believe they have earnt being made Dames rather than CBE and OBE's. On a similar note what do the Rugby League lot have to do to earn an award? I can't say I know that much about Rugby but surely Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow should have been awarded a title. Rugby League still waiting for it's first Knighthood from the establishment [Post edited 31 Dec 2022 15:57]

Why weren't they all recognised for their sterling efforts last summer, which resulted in them winning the Euros. I'm sure that if the men had prevailed in theirs by beating Italy, they would all have been recognised, and rightly so. So why not the winning women.

Looking forward to saying hello to the accounts that had nothing whatsoever to say about any of the last three QPR games, but will hover around a QPR message board all the same just waiting for a feast like this.
