It would appear that the BBC sports online article that appeared as "breaking news" a few hours ago, has now been taken down. I have checked a few of the rugby league websites and there's no mention of it at all. So we still await an official announcement. What's most baffling for me is how London's IMG (yes, I know) grading has dropped by 2 points from the previous year: 11.65. I've been to some of the home games this season and the new owners have made a number of noticeable off-field improvements including online engagement etc, as was their stated aim. I suspect that there will be challenges aplenty on this and how they have arrived at a score of 9.7. Meanwhile, this time last year, the fat controller: N Wood & IMG managed to conjure up a jaw-dropping score of 14.85 for Bradford, as a championship side!! |

Totally agree that we failed to respect the opposition on Saturday in terms of the starting eleven. Made all the more baffling in light of the series of tough games, ostensibly, that we will face in October. Excellent report. [Post edited 21 Sep 14:18]

By my reckoning, that's two more than Burrell and Kone in league games. Rather pertinent observation made by Stocktake, I'd say. [Post edited 14 Sep 20:34]

Agree. Slightly concerned how Adamson will fare against Tyreece Campbell who has started the season very well for Charlton. Still think we should prevail, just. |

And Smythe's ability to get to the byline, take on the defender and actually deliver a cross into telling areas both on the left and right side. He did as much on Saturday when he came on and played down the left. Something Poku, Vale or Dembele do so rarely, if at all, when playing on the right. All of whom appear to be so wedded to their left-foot. Poku's reluctance to play a first-time ball into the penalty area with his right foot, which would have led to a scoring opportunity, being a case in point against Bolton. Some of us have started to reference our forwards' limitations, but they aren't being helped by this inverted winger arrangement. I have no problems if the above were of the ilk of Femi Azeez, who doesn't always get it right, but he isn't afraid to use his weaker foot. To the point that he has created chances and scored goals with his right foot, which in turn makes him harder to mark, as he has the ability to genuinely go both ways. I just want them all to get better in this regard, as they are all capable. [Post edited 24 Aug 15:04]

He may be 37 but if he can still perform to a high level, as evidenced yesterday for the Roosters in a high quality game against Penrith, then he'll certainly raise the standards at FC. Just hope that the London Broncos are permitted into Super League, not a given, so that I can see him play at Plough Lane. |

No assists to date. Dundee United has only scored one goal and he didn't provide that assist. I wish him well and hope his loan spell is a successful one. |

He's minuscule with no physical presence for a keeper. you don't have to be a football guru to see that he will get targeted this season. It's all well and good being "good with your feet" but I'd rather have a keeper who's adept in all the core facets of goalkeeping and be imposing physically. Millwall's keeper, Jensen being a case in point. So to date, both replacements for Walsh have made howlers. Plus ca change. I'd also add that due to Walsh's height, that goal scored by Millwall wouldn't have arisen. |

Personally cannot see Leyton Orient with Richie Wellens, who's no mug, at the helm viewing Alfie Lloyd as being of similar calibre to their last two main strikers: Kelman and Ballard. He would be right too, as Lloyd isn't. They've received a lot of money for Ballard and I'm in no doubt that they'll be looking elsewhere. Perhaps as a back-up striker, but that would in all likelihood mean another loan. [Post edited 5 Aug 12:35]

If that were Walsh in goal, he'd be getting pelters. Truly awful goalkeeping for their equaliser. [Post edited 1 Aug 16:33]

Yeah but like you say it's far preferable, by some, to perpetuate the unfounded especially in the case of Kolli. |
 | Forum Reply | This year's out of the blue signing - Tariq Lamptey at 12:53 21 Jul 2026
I share all of the understandable reservations about this signing, but wow. We potentially have a proper right-back in our ranks who fulfils all facets of that role. Definitely an out of the blue signing but with 120 premier league appearances to his name, it's a gamble worth taking in my view with an immense upside, hopefully. On the face of it, well done Nourry and I'm usually a naysayer when it comes to him. |

Personally believe that we'd have worked wonders if we were to get him a loan with a team in the national league. He's literally only played a few games in the National league south. Any interest from league two clubs would be fanciful in my opinion. |

Not the 2025/26 season version. He barely played for Bristol City when loaned to them in January. About 270 minutes played! We've got enough of those players already that either flatter to deceive and/or simply not good enough. |

I guessed that might have been the case. Hence Ayling's justified reaction. However, very saddened to have that now confirmed as actually taking place. |

For mine, he should have reacted quicker to the shot from Smyth that was saved by their keeper. Greater anticipation was shown by their defender to clear the loose ball than his to score. That's poor. [Post edited 2 May 14:09]
