Regards who is 'stifling our attack' this is a very good point, and this may be contrary to the so-called stats, and as much as I like the lad, I think there is a sensible discussion to be had around Chair 'stifling our attack'. I'm sceptical of certain stats as even I could provide a 5 yard pass to Willock early season, watch him run pass three defenders and score a wonder goal and also recall games last season when Chair was on international duty when we moved the ball forward quicker and rose up the table in his absence. I get Chair gives us possession in the final third, has a great set piece in his locker (which makes his short corners difficult to fathom) but is no Ebere Eze when it comes to bringing players into an attacking move or opening up defences, Like Dykes (and Eze + Freeman of recent seasons) likely we'll not know until they leave the club how Dykes and Chair will fare elsewhere and how it compares to their performances for us. | |
