QPR women’s squad 00:11 - Jun 24 with 975 views

I’ve just seen the post on the official website and it’s really annoyed me.

Clearly there’s more agency for the club to select, deselect and leave players in limbo and (for all their covert comms on men’s football), they’ve doubled down on broadcasting what they *thinking* with the women’s squad. https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/202

This is so emotionally damaging and brutal for these hard working players. How does this make a young sportswoman feel? Essentially a list of players “Allowed to stay and train with the team”. Young people literally putting their bodies on the line (go fund me appeals for ruptured limbs) for minimum reward compared to the men’s game.

I note that the club offers similar candour with its men’s youth team - this makes absolutely clear where the club sees its women’s first team in the pecking order.

May my daughter never play for this club.

I just wish this club would grow some emotional intelligence.
