This season, a few rules have changed the game for the better, it seems.
I am not sure of the exact rulings, but from goal kicks and throw ins, don't they have to be completed in five seconds maximum, otherwise the opposition get the ball. And if a player is injured and a trainer comes on, does the player then have to be off the pitch for a minute. And I think substitutions have to be pretty instant too. No walking off at 0.2 miles an hour. And if a goalkeeper goes down, its an outfield player has to go off for a minute too.
Anyhow whatever the rulings, they are working. If ever there was a game for Bolton to learn the Preston way of killing a game, today was that day.
Anyhow lets hope the rules are followed consistently.
Todays game was noticeably bereft of such pastimes.....
