My eldest son got his A level results today. Sorted: off to uni next month.

What a relief.

JT went to school in Dagenham but no-one reported seeing him this morning.

I am still Steve but no longer in Dagenham.

Good for him mate. My son got his AS levels so we are a year behind but they were important as he will get his predicted grades for Uni with them in a week or two.

Second son got his AS levels and after sodding about until Christmas has managed to pull his grades up enough to be allowed to stay on for the second year of his A levels.

Well done to yours. Such a relief isn't it?

It is Steve. My lad wants to study Physics at Uni so the predicted grades have to be good (an A* and two As for some Unis!!)

Fortunately, Miss Francisbowles2 got her required grades and will be leaving our abode in about a month. Miss Francisbowles1 graduated this year and is currently looking for a career opening but is too old and cleaning not her strong point!

It's mixed blessing for me on the one hand my youngest son just got the grades he needs to go to his first choice uni (Loughborough) to study Computer Science, On the other hand that'll be both my kids at Uni costing me a bloody fortune.

This was a contributory factor in my not renewing my ST this year

Well sell a few more CDs then and spend less time on the Algarve.

or for the next three at least

well done to all whose kids have got their A's, ignore the the bollox sprouted in the press I know just how hard some of them work to get the required grades.

my son just graduated with a first, and funnily enough not in 'projectile vomiting' , the lazy git is now off to do a MA, there seems to be no end to me contributing a small fortune towards getting him able to do 'joined up writing'
