VAT on player transfers?
11:01 - Aug 15 with 977 views

Guess that VAT has to be paid on top of a transfer fee?
Buying Kiefer Morre Cardiff will have to pay HMRC £400k on their next Vat quarter.
Do you think there are players who have signed contracts yet the deal/money exchange gets delayed for cash flow purposes?
Obviously if there is a bidding war for a player this probably wont happen.
Sell a player outside UK then no VAT but importing a player from abroad VAT is payable?
captains fantastic

VAT has to be paid by the buying club, BUT can be claimed back, less any VAT they have RECEIVED on any income which DOES have to be passed over.
In other words VAT is collected by companies for the Government.
