| Madsen 19:26 - Dec 20 with 3244 views | Damo1962 | Been following him closely this season...and he is having a good one. I was one who thought we had bought a dud...but he has made me think again. I love a player who can take criticism on the chin, and knuckle down and improve. He really seems to get us as a club now...and long may it continue. Possible captain? Well done fella. | | | | |

It was great. He sounds like hung-over Ray Winstone calling Avanti West Coast customer services.

There was a spell in the second half when the whole team went flick-crazy, like they’d brought back the Charleston.

The boys that do the W12 PODCAST interviewed him. Was about a 45 minute interview. Some good questions asked and very honest replies from Nicolas... The one stat which was revealed is that in his pro career has taken 19 penalties and scored all 19. Hopefully then we start picking up a few now then. Was asked if he didnt take them who would. His answer was good. i take the penalties he said. Probably would have been more unsure in his reply last term than thst. Playing more on his instincts and more adapted to the constant press of championship football and says the group are all in together. Get the feeling he has more freedom with Stephan than with Cifuentes. [Post edited 20 Dec 22:56]

He came across really well in that interview, he has a steely side to him which is now coming through in his performances and a quiet confidence that marks him out as a leader. He has been mainly excellent this season and long may it continue. Big credit to Stephen for changing his position and giving him the confidence to grow into it
| Madsen on 01:02 - Dec 21 with 1303 views | Padulas_Shampoo | I said some pretty poisonous things about him on here last season. I feel a bit foolish now as I love watching him play and he’s one of the best and most important players in the squad. If we had to vote tomorrow for player of the season I know Burrell would win it by a landslide but I think I would vote Madsen. Hopefully he stays fit and keeps getting better because when he’s firing he is some player. | | | |

Was going to say the same thing It was Dembeles goal for the third IIRC He continued his theme of this season by working hard, closed down in front of Ellerslie and then a lovely outside of the boot flick inside to who I think was Varanne who pushed us on forward. That flick was subtle, good vision and in that move opened up a vast area of the pitch for us. Have said on other threads he’s having a dramatic turnaround season and making my harsh words last season look stupid. I’m always happy to eat humble pie and he’s serving me large portions…… if he added half a dozen goals to his game this season and could see some clubs showing an interest. Fair play to the Mads

Not sure Burrell would win it by a landslide mate, Mbengue got to be just as strong a contender, alongside Nicolas. Re. your first point, you were far from alone in your toxic criticism of him and I'm sure many others (myself included) feel both a bit ashamed, but also incredibly happy to be eating massive slices of humble pie. Madsen's transformation into one of the most elegant, intelligent playmakers in this league is wonderful to behold.

| Madsen on 09:29 - Dec 21 with 888 views | JamesB1979 | Great to see a player come from rock bottom and turn it round. I’d also vote for him as player of season if vote was today. Fair play to likes of Dunne and Cook that were key to helping him out last season based on Madsens interviews. | | | |
| Madsen on 10:23 - Dec 21 with 799 views | PlanetHonneywood | The real interview that was the fame changer for me, was the one he gave in Girona. Frank, honest, almost vulnerable in his admissions and wishes. After that, you couldn't but wish the guy all the best, and he's delivered by the bucket full since. Maybe his experience is something we 'all' could do with remembering the next time we sign someone who's struggling. | |

| Madsen on 11:22 - Dec 21 with 695 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | Top player and is the cog that the rest of the team now move around. Rarely gives the ball away and is always looking to move the team forward and get them on the front foot. He's the one player I fear getting injured as we don't have a direct replacement (no, not Field or Hayden). He keeps this up, and he'll be the big sale next summer. Could see him doing really well in Serie A. At the halfway point, and he is my PoTS. | |

Just watched the highlights link Boston put up After Dembele scores have a look bottom of the screen at Madsen. He celebrates that goal knowing the part he played and seems to be celebrating quite nicely towards the dugouts…….. who knows why?!?!

Agree with all of this. Very nervous about a bid in January or an injury, because we have a plethora of anchor men but no-one who is as good with the ball at his feet. Morgan might be able to fill that role eventually, but he needs to put muscle on first.

Hmm, don't like that personally. He was terrible last season, barely looked like he was trying. If that is how he performs when he doesn't like the manager, that isn't a good sign for us or for future sales. Or maybe I'm looking too much into it. Still out POTS so far for me anyway.

| Madsen on 12:02 - Dec 21 with 590 views | bosh67 | I think the best compliment I can pay him is that last season he was nowhere and this season he is everywhere. The engine we didn't think he had he most certainly has. Very pleased for him because he said in the close season he felt he had let himself and the fans down. This season he's the first name on the team sheet. | |

He literally is the first name on the sheet. He has the most minutes of any QPR player this season (1,799) Equal with Burrell for most appearances (22) Equal with Dunne for most starts (20) He has already played more minutes than he did last season. His only backward step is in goals (2) and assists (2) which haven't yet caught up with last season's 3 goals and 3 assists. https://fbref.com/en/squads/a7
| Madsen on 13:40 - Dec 21 with 417 views | francisbowles | Madsen and Dembele both showed some signs of their ability at the beginning and in Madsen's case at the end of the season. Madsen has really got his game together now and has got used to this league, his new role and coach. I was a bit worried about him after Watford but since then he has been excellent on most occasions. Dembele had injury issues last season, which undoubtedly slowed his progress. Is beginning to now show similar improvements to his game. Very good yesterday. | | | |
