It’s gonna be an unpopular opinion, but I think not buying anyone this window is one of the first sensible decisions SR have made!
This season is gone, plan for the summer window and a proper rebuild. But to do that you first have to clear some of the wage bill and make space in the squad.
The truth is, a move to Saints isn’t gonna be that attractive for the calibre of players we need right now. |

The focus now needs to be on staying up and clearing out the deadwood over the next two transfer windows. The one thing that Will Still has shown everyone (although most fans already knew this) is that our bloated squad lacks quality in so many key areas. Let’s hope the next manager realises this a bit quicker than Still did. |

I’d argue that RM was also the wrong man for the job and our strategy has been flawed even before Wilcox left.
Yes he got us promoted, but we finished fourth with the second best squad and conceded far too many goals. This wasn’t the sort of preparation we needed for life in the prem.
In my opinion, the best way to prepare for life in the prem is to make yourself very hard to score against and assemble a squad that will out-muscle, out-fight and out-run any other team. Keeping possession for the sake of it is fool hardy. |

I agree with the comments above, we should keep him and start him. It would be great prem experience for him with no pressure as we are certain to be relegated anyway.
Personally I’d play 4-2-3-1 and make him one of two holding midfielders to shield our poor defence
