In the past he was decent, the 2017 Carabao Cup Final comes to mind. He could run and did a decent job against Zaha at RB when we had injuries. However before he left us JWP admitted that because of his degrading hips he no longer practiced taking free kicks; I am not aware of him scoring one in the last three years. The word from Hammers supporters that I know is that his legs have gone. By all means bring him back if he wishes to take his coaching badges but Bragg is now a better player and needs to be given more opportunities. |

Our defence hasn’t been sorted out since Ralph Hasenhuttl was with us: it has been leaky and this still needs to be addressed. Hoping to outscore the opposition will not see us promoted; tough, resolute defending and not conceding is what we require now and when we return to the Premiership. If Aaron Ramsdale was placed in the shop window that would certainly give Peretz a nudge to raise his game. Enough has already been said about Captain Jack but Wood was disappointing as he allowed himself to be pushed over by Ajala instead of being strong for their first goal despite Peretz’s failure to collect.
Subbing Tom Fellows was disappointing as was that of Bragg and Akachukwu: their replacements didn’t improve matters. Edozie did well, willing to take on his man, not get physically bullied and got some decent crosses in. Finn Azaz and Cyle Larin needed to be introduced far earlier: we should play the two strikers together as Larin and Mubama both needed support. Mubama needs to learn the techniques of close control etc off Larin; he needs to soak up the experience of Larin and how to bully the defenders. |

Bazunu’s loan spell at Stoke was unfortunately hit by injury. He appeared 4 times: in his first game he kept a clean sheet and did so again on his return from injury. He made several mistakes in the next two games after which he didn’t play again for Stoke. At times he is an excellent goalkeeper: the criticism of Bazunu is harsh, what goalkeepers don’t make mistakes? If he leaves, all the best to him but let’s hope it’s not to a championship rival! |

For me, who had 50 years experience in business including years at Vosper Thornycroft, the biggest concern is that our CEO, PR team and legal team (assuming we have one) seems leagues out of their depth: they need to be rapidly revamped or reinforced otherwise I fear what will result! |

Having worked in many industries over 50 years working with CEOs’, directors, PR, legal teams and QCs/KCs the people that should be replaced are the CEO, PR team and whatever legal firm that was used as clearly they were more League 2 than Championship let alone Premiership level. The complete failure to effectively respond to and counter the Middlesbrough narrative, to effectively stand up to the EFL and its panels was lamentable. |

A great shout to Daniel Peretz, he’s become one of our favourite players and we owe him for last night’s draw. Yes, I’m eating a large helping of humble pie as he has come on leaps and bounds since his early games! Playing each match has led to a massive improvement.
Note to Tonda: on Saturday please play Larin and Stewart upfront together; this will be something that City are not used to: both are excellent players.
Looking forward to these last few matches; it’s been brilliant!

“… Kuryu Matsuki got his head to the ball virtually as it was about to cross the line to make sure…” is harsh, from our position he out jumped the goal keeper and nodded it in before the keeper could save it. Thought he definitely deserved the MOTM. The Downes comparison with Morgan Schneiderlin by “onetowatch” is preferable over Terry Hurlock. Thought that TBH and Captain Jack had excellent games, with coaching Peretz and telling what to do. Peretz did well last night but he was excellently protected by his defenders, hopefully he will come on as he achieves more game time but he is only a loan so we will have to seek a replacement goalkeeper assuming Ramsdale doesn’t return.Larin did well, his muscular hold up play retaining the ball is reminiscent of Che Adams, exactly what we have been needing this season. Looking forward to some more exciting games! |

Superb balanced article and support all the comments above except for Southamptonfan’s comment on the goalkeeper: the rest I fully agree with. We were very lucky not to be one nil down after 1 minute; not sure what happened but the Watford player must have been in disbelief when he received the ball. It was easier to score than miss, but thankfully miss he did. Otherwise Peretz was not placed under any real pressure or threat, the saves were all routine and undemanding; long may our team protect him. When the third central comes on it feels like there’s always some degree of confusion introduced; maybe it’s my nerves! |

We need a decent goalkeeper too: 5 point have been squandered since we loaned out Bazunu . Many seem unaware that Bazunu is very capable of accurate long kicks but was inhibited by the coaching tactics that were dictated (you only had to watch him in training and his warmups to know this): I agree that it was refreshing to see the goalkeeper kick long on Sunday, a clear and welcome change in overall team tactics but regretfully many went astray into touch. |

Good article. While Ryan Manning was at fault for the appalling back pass the goalkeeper should have fallen on to the ball. For the second goal Wood should have jumped, it was an uncontested header; Wood and others seem to be unable to read the flight of a ball and is unable to time his jump: it’s unlikely that Bazunu would have conceded either goal.
Meanwhile Dom Ballard is scoring for fun for Leyton Orient.

Peretz is a down-grade on Bazunu. Constantly over the years management and fans have blamed goalkeepers (look at how Fraser Forster was treated) when the problem was in front of them. If Bazunu goes to Stoke then be assured that we will regret it! |
