Wrexham looked a bit terrified of us early on and kept it defensive, we should have speeded up the game and kept them on the back foot. Our slow play gave them the confidence to get back in and win the game. Ridiculous. |

I personally think Tonda has got this part of his game more or less right, he's not wedded to playing around the back at all costs like Martin, waiting for the inevitable mistake, Tonda uses it in a more methodical way. I'm not saying we're perfect but we're pretty good, and better than any team I've seen this season.
For me, it's great to see us take control of a game for periods when the opposition are relentlessly attacking us, it takes the sting out of their attacks as it did against Bristol City.
Also it knackers fast attacking teams like Bristol and Swansea leaving us more attacking possibilities later in the game. If we constantly went toe to toe anything could happen, so I think he's got the balance right.
We played out too much at the end of the Swansea game and made some mistakes that luckily didn't hurt us, and the team looked tired which made it even more dangerous, so is was good to see them hoofing the ball at the end.
THB was good at starting an attack, but I feel Shlottenbeck can also thread a good through pass. |

As someone mentioned Tonda seems to have changed his tactics slightly in that we are driving forward less and are spending more minutes playing it around the back. Some people are calling it a return to Russel Martin tactics, but when we do break through the lines we are fairly deadly.
Around 70 minutes in the Swansea game we were giving the ball away in our own half and the crowd were screaming to get it up the pitch, but later Tonda and Azaz both said that we have to stick with that tactic.

Normally I'd say JWP for his experience and talent, but I've gone for FD due to his battling spirit and his positive forward playing attitude. My only reservation about FD is that he can get too fired up, but that may be a good thing. |

We were in block 20 and it did get quite lively. City fans were extremely loud for 40 minutes until the goal came, after that they quietened down. They had to endure a lot of Saints bating them for the rest of the game. By the time the 4th goal went in they were like rabid beasts, trying to climb the barriers and getting pushed back by stewards. Saints lads giving the the 'come on'. Water bottles being exchanged and then they sloped off.
All quite amusing, but at least most of them stayed to the end unlike Millwall. |

Yes a rather edgy game to begin with and that goal at the end of the first half settled nerves a bit until they scored. I thought we looked much more determined after their goal and we stepped it up a gear.After that we pretty much controlled the game.
Nice move by Tonda bringing on Fellows and switching Matsuki to the left, when he needed to preserve Scienza. That's a much better idea than bringing Dobbin on.
Tonda always looks for solutions. Another great win. UTFS |

It's better to have Fellows start like tonight, with Larin up front, because he provides a lot of crosses, thought he was brilliant last night.
Bringing Matsuki on as a sub as Fellows tires works, the energy Matsuki brings causes mayhem.
I noticed Tonda kept his first team going longer, because he doesn't rate his subs (apart from Matsuki), a direct result of drawing against Lincoln. When he did bring Mubama on he only had 6 minutes. So Tonda learns quick.
Thought Wood was excellent last night and Shlotterbeck is class. |

When Tonda hit his bad patch last season he found a way to win again, so even though we've had a reasonable start I'm sure he's working overtime to make us more resilient. COYS |

Alfie House quoted in his recent article that Rambo had a relegation clause in his contract and his wages are greatly reduced, so the club are able to 'manage' his return to the squad.
He's probably on £60k a week. Still a lotta dough, but manageable for now. |

The club was keen to get Peretz on a permanent deal so probably had to give him assurances that he would be first choice keeper, which is what Tonda is referring to. But if he goes through a period of poor form then he should be professional enough to know there's a great keeper waiting in the wings |

We don't know much about Mubama at the moment, but we do know that with players like Scienza, Azaz, Fellows, Matsuki, Downes and Jander he's going to get plenty of service. When he gets 2 or 3 goods chances coming in he has to turn at least one of them into a goal.
Any CF would die to have those players providing his chances as Larin has discovered.
Will he make the most of it, we shall see. If not let Princwell have some game time. |

Yes we didn't click tonight, and made too many mistakes, so a draw is a fair result.
Not having Stewart to come on has reduced our potency for sure which is a problem, so we really need Mubama to step up. |
