Chelsea in financial meltdown?
at 20:22 28 May 2018

Ok, it’s a cheeky post title but read on dear reader.....

https://www.timesofisrael.com/chelsea-owner-roman-abramovich-immigrates-to-israe

Abramovich missed the FA Cup final due to no longer having a Visa after the Govt clamped down on Russians following the diplomatic spat between the two countries.

The thing is if he can’t enter the U.K. and watch Chelsea in person is he gonna stay interested in continuing to fund Chelsea? One hopes not.

Holloway’s latest thoughts
at 10:21 13 Apr 2018

It has been reported a couple of times now in West London Sport that Holloway intends to pick Mackie @nd Perch before the end of the season purely so that they get the chance to say goodbye (and vice versa) to the fans. Maybe Mackie can be substituted off at a pre arranged minute during the game and a guard of honour formed to rapturous applause and tears all round.

Regardless of what you think of Mackie or a Perch as players and their service to the club, picking players solely to give them the opportunity to say goodbye is cringeworthy and Terryesque.

Joshua v Parker
at 21:16 30 Mar 2018

Getting proper excited about tomorrow nights fight. Really good undercard too. Buatsi, Cordina, Josh Kelly, Povetkin v Price could be horrific though.

This is a tough test for Joshua, Parker seems to have a good chin but as far as I can see has never really been under huge pressure in a fight. Still not sure about Joshua’s chin. I think this could go either way but make Joshua favourite just coz of his experience. I reckon it’ll be worth every penny of the PPV.

Ian Holloway as Manager, a players view.
at 23:04 14 Jan 2018

Hopefully the above link works. It’s from a BBC podcast on Welsh football.

There’s a very interesting insight from Danny Gabbidon about his time at Crystal Palace working under Ian Holloway during his short time as manager there. Listen between. 12.20 and 19.10.

Gabbidon also doesn’t have great things to say about Mark Hughes when they were both at QPR. Listen from 24.10.

Goss
at 01:01 9 Aug 2017

I was mildly excited about this lad signing for us. He's had precious little opportunity to show what he can do but was very surprised to see that he didn't even make the bench for tonight's second string outing against Northampton. In a way I hope he's injured because if he isn't then it would appear that he's next to no chance of making many appearances if any this season.
If you take it that his best position is as a deeper laying midfielder then it would seem that Scowen is the first pick in that role followed by Borusiuk and Cousins when fit and even Hall after that. I wonder why Holloway bought him. Maybe time for a loan move ?

Smithies save
at 00:21 6 Aug 2017

I thought Smithies save deserved a thread of its own. It was, I think, one of the best saves I've ever seen by any goalkeeper. His view was blocked by four players and the shot was from well inside the box. How he managed to save that I just don't know. It was miraculous.

Best midfield 4 ?
at 15:25 5 Mar 2017

After Goss' inclusion and Ngbakoto starting to find form I wonder what everyone's midfield 4 would be playing at home if everyone is fit and raring to go? We're certainly not short of options now with Freeman and LuaLua coming in as well. At the moment for me it's -

Ngbakoto on the left - His preferred position and where he played for Metz. Also gets picked coz of his threat from set pieces.

Manning - His selection has coincided with a dramatic upturn in form for the team.

Luongo - I'd rather see Hall playing next to Lynch and long term I'd like to see Goss make this position his own as long as he shows he can do what's necessary in the Championship. Luongo almost gets this place by default for the time being.

Wzsolek - Grafter, creative, good crosser.

We've got our Rangers back!

Youth team product scores. A battling derby draw and Bircham sent off after a scrap at the end of the game. Bloody marvellous.

I thought it was tough on Hall that he was dropped for Angella. When he did come on he did really well.

The fantastic four
at 17:07 29 Aug 2015

I think our front four are a very exciting proposition with the midfield 3 interchanging. It would be typical Rangers to lose 50% of them in the next few days. Is it too much to hope that Austin and Phillips realise they're at the start of a memorable season and decide to stay and create something beautiful?

I quite like it. Good format, no Claridge, don't have to wait till midnight to watch the highlights ala BBC.

IF Charlie Austen comes on as a sub today how long will it be before Clive tyldesley says the word 'Bricklayer'.

My guess - within one minute of him coming on.

I found myself whistling a happy tune whilst weeding the garden!! I know without that win I'd have weeded in glum silence. #littlethings
