We have a weak mentality, start games slowly giving the oppo confidence and we’re devoid of options up top. Ballard decision was a shocker. Agree that Manning is a home player and Wellington a far better defender. Also agree that Bree is not putting in a shift but Roerslev is really poor and also lightweight. Robinson is far better than Edozie who doesn’t even want to be here so that decision baffles me..
I disagree about Ward Prowse as we are now too slow and lightweight in midfield, he is a signing which suggests we’re not going up. Oh and Jander will be ready next week.. for the 10th time..
We are far weaker as a squad and as individuals this season and Eckert makes poor personnel decisions.
Hence we are winless on the road heading into October. We’ve gone backwards without a doubt.

Personally I thought Ward Prowse gave us less than Romeo, can’t believe he took the free kick when it was the perfect spot for Manning and JWP never scores from that side of the box.. ridiculous decision. We were pretty poor all game, first touch looked awful too often and some players wanted too much time on the ball and Leo narrowed our shape too much. Matsuki looked good when he came on and looked sharp but in the main, we lacked the aggression and speed of transition too often. The amount of times Birmingham won the first ball and then the second ball was incredibly frustrating. So a point was probably a great result away from home with a poor performance. |

Good deal for someone who lacks pace and makes mistakes. I think he was great for us in many ways but don’t think he’s ready for a move like this or worth 30 million, I thought we overpaid for him at 20 tbh. Shows how far Villa have fallen, from Konsa to THB. Good luck to him though and I wonder if this means the Viking warrior will arrive. We still need a Charles replacement but that won’t happen before January at least by the looks of it. I like the look of Romeo but it’s too soon for him to fill those shoes. I just don’t understand it, we bring in a heap for Charles and should be replacing him with someone who has a future playing in the Premier League, clearly Ward Prowse hasn’t and he couldn’t get a game at another relegated side. He hasn’t been treated like a dog, he’s just not got the attributes you need for the game now in the top 2 divisions and he’s lost his only weapon with no free kicks scored since he left. Well he’s not irreplaceable. If you look at his goal tally from last season, it was probably half of what it could have or should have been. He seemed to lose his way a little in the last third towards the back end. I do love him but I think he is slightly over-hyped. Be curious to see what his stats were in the last couple of months.

The current club owners and board don’t care about the fans in the slightest. This has become obvious through their silence, lack of reply to fan emails and now this insult. I was actually thinking of renewing again but to chuck this out there with no proper apology or respect for what the fans have gone through sums up their amateur abilities in running a business and a football club. When I saw this tiny increase I looked at it as a poke, as a piss take, so I have to agree with the angle of approach from Nick here.

Unsurprisingly he wasn’t.. at 29 with his limited physical fitness, not able to play 90 mins..
I think we let him go as he was not committed to us, he wanted to look elsewhere to see if anything better was possible, so we said we’re not waiting for you to have a look, we’re moving on.. and rightly so, I am very disappointed that he didn’t show desperation to stay with us because he won’t get a better situation anywhere else.
I have always been a fan of Bree from the start, quality footballer with great delivery. This is an another solid move by Saints.
We keep Jander and THB we’ll be flying again. I understand that Scienza will go but I hope we replace him rather than just using Edozie. I like him but Solaks comment about him being a CL player was like building us up in readiness for saying he is Leo’s replacement.. With Robinson the back up. |

I don’t see how the FA can sanction a manager in one league but not another league for the same act.. Surely if there is no rule (and there shouldn’t be as it’s ludicrous) in the Premier League then that is a legal defence if the FA try to penalise us more..?
I still think someone should be compensating the fans who travelled to Middlesbrough at 4am for a game where we had to take threats and abuse on the way to the ground. The club has not acknowledged this.
I do see a strong response by the club with the signings and I applaud that but there is still a large disconnect between the club and the fans as I see it, in terms of communication and how the love is very much one way. I really don’t like it and they don’t seem to care. This is a problem which should have been fixed after the calls for SR to get out of our club and after our worst season in our history the season before last. The owners are very lucky to have the loyalty but because of how I view their treatment of the fans, I think one more bad turn and many will go. They need to show some love back to the fans really soon. It’s just nowhere near good enough for unity and they need to wake up to that. |

I totally agree with Nick on this article, those like King Olaf and the other bed wetters need to grow a pair.. I agree Tonda did wrong and sure I’m piseed off about it but the reaction is moronic towards him when the real anger, including mine, is aimed at the weak board who allowed the corrupt people involved to sanction us with the most ridiculous over the top punishment, just to get Boro to the final where they expected to beat Hull.

I am not renewing my ticket, not because of Tonda but because of Parsons who’s so out of his depth, he let the Boro machine tread all over him. Didnt contest the EFL (Bauson) breaking of their own rules and didn’t object to the conflict of interests throughout, because they stupidly thought we’d just get a fine. This clown still has a job and the communication has been diabolical with a lack of class and maturity.. these are the people who have ruined the season and our club, not Tonda.
If we keep Tonda, there is a good chance of top 6 again even with the 4 points deduction. Now we know enough about the situation to sack Tonda would be cutting off the nose to spite the face.
I admit I was probably of the opinion he should go when it first came out but now we’ve heard the whole story, I feel he needs a second chance, Parsons has to go and the EFL, Bauson, Gibson and Taylor all need investigating and Bauson needs to be removed from the EFL board.. |

This has nothing to do with punishing Southampton for their misdemeanours, this is all about trying to get Middlesbrough into the premier league, this has now become obvious, from the behaviour of Boro, the entrapment, the keeping the info from the EFL and of course this COO who is on the board of the EFL since 2021..

Any truth in the rumour that Boro were waiting for Salt after being tipped off by a disgruntled ex employer who also used to work at Boro and ran to Gibson to warn him? Suggestions are that they were waiting with expert recording equipment better than he had.

Jander incredible game again and 3 days after his motm performance against Man Cheaty.
Manning looked good for not playing on Saturday, the rest helping his energy levels massively.
Latin immense effort and great goal.
We have 1 major problem defensively now, it used to be 2 but we have improved a lot with stopping the crosses coming in. This major problem is our failure to close down men on the edge of our own box. Even going back to Russell Martin at home to Ipswich we conceded a last minute equaliser in the Prem because we didn’t get out quick enough and Aribo pussied out turning his back.
On Saturday we conceded a winner the same way and the Clarke equaliser last night showed nobody getting out quick enough or throwing their body in front. This maybe a little harsh but I am sure that teams have picked up on this flaw in our game and exploit it, it cost us 2 points last night and it has to stop. My only criticism of THB and the keeper last night was their lack of shouting to get out. Ipswich are the only team I fear in play offs so hopefully they win on Saturday too, they are the best side out of the rest of them. |
