Freeman sees red as QPR slip at Preston — Report
at 00:25:36

Bazza, do you mean that we're in the same (or worse boat) re actual attendance numbers? If so, I went to uni in Preston in their division 2 days. Even then there were a lot of half and half fans by which I mean home town team was PNE but also supported Man U etc.

They hate Blackpool and drew them in the FA Cup when Big Fat Sam was in charge of Blackpool. It was a full house, but me and my mates went, neither season ticket holders or members, so that's telling. It was terraces as well. They've redeveloped the ground at all ends and increased capacity without having the success to increase the gate. One of those clubs that could make it to the Premier League and add a couple of thousand to the gate with returning fans and general Lancs floaters without a strong allegiance. Long winded post sorry, they're Lancashire's Fulham I guess.

Jan Stejskal’s last-second penalty save — history
at 15:28:20

THAT day at SJP was the greatest football moment of my life until Wembley this year. As someone born and bred in the North East, Newcastle has always been my rival team in the way Chelscum are for most of you, especially after Sir John Hall brought in Keegan and 20k extra fans who hadn't given a f**k about football before. I came home from Uni for the match but could only get a ticket in the Gallowgate home end, right near the front. I managed to keep my loyalties under wraps (a jumper in this case) until the penalty save at the end, right in front of me, when I let out a guttural scream and whipped the jumper off to show off the blue and white hoops! The stunned silence that greeted this action gave me the valuable seconds to run off up the stairs to safety. Amazing game!

QPR hope for a change of luck after two thrashings with Ilderton - referee
at 21:16:22

Aaaahhhh, Eduardo! I live on the 3rd floor of flats and he was dating the lady on the ground floor for a while. Actually a really nice guy, was gonna have me has his guest for any R's games he got this season, but him splitting up with my neighbour has kiboshed that! It was quite interesting hearing the refs side of things from him, he also thought Clive had it in for him based on his reviews on LFW which made me chuckle! Hope he remembers my pre season pleas for bias in favour of our boys...

Redknapp’s impossible job begins with midweek trek north — full match preview

Good stuff Clive, although not all of us have to make such sacrifices for this game! I finish work at 5, will have a couple of pints in Newcastle before getting the £3.80 metro to Sunderland. Home before 11 as well. And 10 loyalty points to boot for the second easiest fixturein the calendar! Now he home games on the other hand...

How the other half lives

Emanuelle Monthe came on for the U19's in the cup at St. James Park that I wrote about last season and had a bizarre cameo then as well. He certainly is a fairly massive chap, and one of those that has a career in youth football primarily due to the fact that he is built like a brick sh*thouse!

Lay down your pitchforks, Barton’s not the right target — guest column
at 09:44:07

'In years gone by, somebody in the dressing room (probably Shaun Derry or Clint Hill) would have punched Joey after the game for letting everybody down again and that would be the situation effectively dealt with'.

Except that he's such a horrible, divisive influence in the dressing room that they want on the hoy with him a couple of days after the Citeh match. Nice balanced piece Jesse, look forward to more. Mr barton is certainly getting us all 'Newsnight' this week while we wait for signings!

Our captain, the ‘gobby Scouse git’ — guest column
at 12:26:27

Thank fcuk for that! A reasoned response to the whole Joey Barton debate, which I agree with entirely. Honestly, the way people are going on about him you'd think he'd committed murder in the name of QPR. A lot of people are getting very 'Daily Mail' about all of this. WE DIDN'T GET RELEGATED!

Blackburn visit evokes memory of past controversy — history
at 12:41:02

I loved Simon Barker! That FA cup goal against Liverpool, live on the beeb was awesome. I was in floods of tears at the time as I thought we were going out and I f*ckin' hated Liverpool then, when they used to spawnily win everything. Uncontrolled joy when he equalised. I really thought we were gonna win the cup that year, and back then it actually meant something. Even though I was only 13, I always thought we'd win it in my lifetime. Little did I know, we'd actually embark on a run of not prgressing past the bloody 3rd round, or the 1st come to think of it!

QPR’s Premiership Years — The ten best moments
at 12:17:14

One fan going mental wasn't in the corner with the away fans. I was directly behind the save in the Gallowgate End, I had restrained myself for 90 minutes, but at that point whipped off my jumper to reveal the Hoops! I was chased down the road for a mile before losing my pursuers, but what a day!
As someone who has graduated from uni, been married and had two kids, your number 1 is in my top 3 of LIFE, let alone football. Awesome stuff as always Clive, great memories and looking forward to the next installment.

QPR’s Premiership Years — Ten best goals scored
at 13:19:44

The best ever I saw in the flesh was against Everton at Goodison in 93. Stejskal to Bardsley, across the centre backs to Willo and so on until after a 26 pass move, Bradley Allen scored his hat-trick! If Man Utd had done it, they'd still be showing it to this day. However, it did win goal of the day on Goals on Sunday the following day. We were awesome that day, drove back to Uni in Preston and didn't stop smiling for 5 days. As you say Clive, that was some side.
