We are QPR Supporters Fc and due to a younger generation of flaky unreliable kids signing up for a football team they have no intention of playing for more than twice a season who are on their phones 20 hours a day but can't take two seconds to reply to a whatsapp whether they are playing (Sorry, rant over)we are looking at disbanding the open age team and setting up as Vets for next season. Games will be on Sunday mornings in and around West London, wearing the famous hoops very generously donated to us by the wonderful Andy Evans and his team.
So we are looking to recruit QPR fans aged 35+ to come and join the remaining fat old b*stards who can still play a bit who have been playing against kids half our age playing football the QPR way (managed by a bald bloke, keep the ball on the deck, useless in defence - ring any bells?) and managing to hold our own (2nd in the league this season) - Marc Bircham has even played for us on occasion the last couple of seasons - thats how nice a bunch we are.
We want decent, regular, reliable players who will be able to play more Sundays than not so that we have a core 13-14 and then other players who can play say half the games when regulars can't.
Obviously The most important part of Sunday football is the taking the piss out of each other and having a pint or 5 after the game so the social side is as important to us. Please no angry coked up dickheads though, we're QPR not some East end parody from The football factory.
We will be holding trial friendlies during the summer so if you have been thinking about getting fitter, wanting to feel part of something, playing 5 a side and wanting to get involved in 11 a side again please get in touch and come and have a trial and get involved - We are at qprsfc2019@gmail.com - if you can let us know your age, positions you can play and what level and regularity you play at we would love to hear from you.
We are QPR Supporters Fc, a Sunday League football team run by and for QPR fans of a half decent standard who can play in the famous hoops on Sunday mornings in West London followed by a few pints afterwards. If you have been thinking about playing again ,getting back to your fighting weight , or getting out and about for your mental or physical health post lockdown, come and join in, we are a good bunch who play football the QPR way (managed by a bald bloke, lovely to watch, useless in defence). If you are of half decent standard but most importantly reliable and available most Sundays please contact qprsfc2019@gmail.com
Very interesting and revealing character. Well worth a listen. Discusses how great Ollie was with all of his issues and the rest of Carlisle's time with us
Hearing on the Loftus Road grapevine that the reason that Fulham have released no details regarding their season tickets for their return to the championship is that they are looking to complete the upscaling / development of the Riverside stand at Craven Cottage....and are behind the scenes in negotiations with our very own selves about using Loftus Road for next season. I hope we don't get fleeced on the deal this time.
Reading the current names linked and interviewed I would definitely be happy for Marc (who's also been interviewed for the role) to be given the job at least till the end of the season. Luongo who singled out Birchams coaching of him "I have been doing a lot of training with Birch (Marc Bircham), working on finishing in the box to get an eye for goal and that has helped. I feel different around the box now.” has not looked the same player since he left for one. He also coached near enough every youngster that we want to be part of the team going forward. The only possible negative would be a lack of managerial experience but McClaren had 30 years worth and was still a complete clown. You only have to look to Manchester Utd to see what someone who lives and breaths the club and understand's what the fans want to see it doesn't always have to be a negative.
We are Accrington Stanley Bowles,a QPR supporters team founded in 1996 and still going strong, we are looking ahead to next season for QPR fans who are semi decent (very decent would be a bonus) at 11 a side football (But more importantly reliable) to join us in a promotion hunt in the Chiswick & District League, this will only be achievable with a dedicated bunch who are happy to play more Sunday mornings (1030am kick offs) than not. We are a decent bunch, 80% of whom are long suffering QPR fans, we are hoping to increase the QPR element of the team as whisper it quietly we have Spurs, Arsenal and *Spits* even a Chelsea fan within our squad. If you are interested we can be reached on twitter @AccStanBowlesFC or by email at asbfc96@gmail.com or simply reply to this thread if you want letting us know your age, ability and positions that you can play in. Don't be shy come and get involved.
